Storage jar labels

Give your kitchen a fresh spring makeover with these stylish jar labels by Sarah Dennis.

-

Make your mornings special with this beautiful intarsia label collection.

Add a personal touch to a set of storage jars with this trio of labels. We love how well the lettering stands out in this classic blue and white colour scheme – even when bleary- eyed in the morning you’ll always be able to find the coffee! If you need to alter the sizing to fit your jars, follow the instructions given below.

Notes The instructions given are for labels that will fit around a jar/pot with a circumference of 32cm, but they’re easily adjusted to fit jars of different sizes by following these steps: 1 Measure the circumference of the jar. 2 Subtract 1cm, to ensure the label fits snugly around the jar. 3 Subtract the size of the motif (below). 4 Divide the remaining length by 2. The final figure that you obtain in step 4 is the length of plain stocking stitch you need to knit before and after placing the motif. Using ‘tea’ as an example: 1 Jar circumference = 32cm 2 Subtract 1 = 31cm 3 31 – 8 = 23cm (tea motif measures 8cm, see below)

4 23 ÷ 2 = 11.5cm Therefore knit 11.5cm before starting to knit the motif. When knitted to the given tension, the motifs measure as follows: Tea 8cm Coffee 13.5cm Sugar 12.75cm
