SURFACE CROCHET CHAIN STITCH

The magical element of this vibrant cushion is the chain stitch finish. Read on for how to create this great texture…

-

1 From front to back, insert your crochet hook through first purl stitch in column (underneath first bump) and draw yarn up through stitch.

2 Insert hook into next purl stitch in column (underneath next bump) and draw yarn up through purl stitch and through the stitch on your hook, removing this stitch from the hook in the process.

3 Repeat the instructions in Step 2 until you have reached the top of the purl column on your cushion (you’ll know you are there when there are no bumps left above your current stitch).

4 Break off your yarn and draw the tail through the last purl stitch you worked in. Weave the yarn tail end into the back of your work.
