Cast on 30 sts using 3 mm needles and Yarn D.

Rows 1 to 3 Knit.

Row 4 (K2tog, K1) 10 times. [20 sts]

Row 5 Knit.

Row 6 (K2tog) 10 times. [10 sts] Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.

COW FEET

(MAKE 4)

Cast on 16 sts using 3 mm needles and Yarn B.

Rows 1 to 11 Starting on a WS purl row, work in st st.

Break Yarn B and join Yarn C.

Rows 12 to 15 Knit.

Row 16 (K2tog) 8 times. [8 sts] Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.

COW TAIL (I-CORD)

Cast on 4 sts using 3 mm DPNs and Yarn B.

*Knit 4 sts, slide to other end of DPN without turning work; rep from * until i-cord measures 4cm.

Change to Yarn C.

*Knit 4 sts, slide to other end of DPN without turning work; rep from * until i-cord measures 6cm.

Cast off.

TO MAKE UP

Sheep Make up in the same way as the Pig (see below), except for the Tail. For the Sheep’s Tail, sew side edges tog, add a little stuffing and sew cast-on edge onto the back of the Sheep’s Body.

Pig Sew the cast-on edge of the Snout to the cast-off edge of the Body. Sew the buttons onto the Body, for the eyes. Sew side edges of Snout/Body together, stuffing as you sew. The seam runs down centre underside. Gather the caston sts tog at the back. Sew side edges of Ear tog and sew cast-on edge onto Body. Sew side edges of Feet tog, add stuffing, and sew cast-on edge onto bottom of Body. Sew Tail in a coil shape onto back of Pig.

Cow Sew side edges of Body together, add stuffing, and gather cast-on sts tog. The seam runs down underside. Sew side edges of Feet tog, add stuffing, and sew cast-on edge onto bottom of the Body. Sew side edges of Head tog. This seam runs down centre-back of Head. Sew the buttons onto the front of the Head, for the eyes. Add stuffing and sew closed cast-on edge at top and cast-off edge at bottom. Sew side edges of Horn tog, add stuffing, and sew cast-on edge onto top corners of Head. Sew side edges of Ear tog and sew cast-on edge onto Head below Horns. Sew back of Head onto front-top of Body. Using Yarn C sew U-shaped nostrils onto nose. Sew cream end of Tail onto back of Body. For each Spot sew side edges tog to make a circle. Sew Spots onto Body.
