TO MAKE UP
Block gently to measurements, following any yarn care instructions on the band.
1 Join cast-on stitches of the base and of the main piece into a circle and sew the main seam on the base and main piece.
2 Place base lining on top of base on the inside of basket and handsew in place.
3 Place macramé hoop inside the top of the basket on the fold line. Fold the top over to the inside of the main piece and handsew in place.
4 Fold the handle in half lengthways wrong sides together and oversew the side seams together. Flatten the handle out, so that the seam is on the centre of the wrong side and only the cable shows on the right side.
5 Oversew the ends of the handle to opposite sides of the basket overlapping the sides at the top by 3-4cm.
6 Sew a button on the opposite end of the button tab to the buttonhole. Fold the tab over the handle and fasten with the button. (You can use the tab to hang the basket from your washing line – simply fasten the tab around the washing line and basket handle).
