JAYNE DRYDEN

Owner of a huge flock of Wensleydales

Simply Knitting - - What’s New -

Meet Jane – farm owner, spinner of 100% Wensleydale wool and yarn shop owner

Up early or slow to rise? Up early and out to see my sheep – even on Christmas Day!

First job of the day? Breakfast for 500! Seriously, this is a fantastic time to check the sheep, which we typically keep in flocks of 50. So that’s 10 groups to feed and check each morning. I love it for three seasons of the year and don’t like to think about the fourth!

Mid-morning pick me up? A lovely large mug of tea and some homemade cake. Fave time to sit back and take five? I’m still waiting for this one!

Leisurely lunchtime? Eating my sandwich outside and being pestered by our guinea fowl.

Post-lunch priorities? Sorting wool and fleece and packing wool kits to try to beat the post. Talking to customers – I have just opened a small woolly farm shop.

Clocking o time? Clocking o for me is cooking dinner and then knitting with a large glass of wine, of course.
