Note Both mitts are worked from the same Charts. For Left Mitt, work all Chart rounds read­ing from right to left. For Right Mitt, re­verse the de­sign (to make a pair of mitts) by read­ing all Chart rounds from left to right.

LEFT MITT

Cast on 42 sts us­ing 3mm DPNs and Yarn A.

Dis­trib­ute sts evenly, tak­ing care not to twist the cast-on edge and join to work in the round.

Round 1 (RS) *K1, P1; rep from * to end.

This round forms rib.

Cont in rib un­til mitt meas 6cm. Change to 3.25mm DPNs.

Us­ing the Fair Isle tech­nique and read­ing all Chart rounds from right to left, work in patt from Chart for hand, which is worked en­tirely in st st (knit ev­ery round), as folls:

Note Rowan Kid­silk Haze yarn is used dou­ble through­out. Work Rounds 1-2 from Chart.

Round 3 Patt 39 sts, M1, K1, M1, patt 2 sts. [44 sts] Work 2 rounds.

edge be­fore 11 sts left on Thumb holder, patt 11 sts on Thumb holder, pick up and knit 1 st from row-end edge, then turn work and pick up and knit 11 sts from cast-on edge at top of Thumb open­ing. [24 sts]

Dis­trib­ute sts evenly and work in rounds from Thumb Chart as folls: ***Work Thumb Chart Rounds 2 to 16.

FIN­ISH­ING

Weave in ends. Block mit­tens care­fully, fol­low­ing any in­struc­tions on the ball band.

A mix of rus­tic tweed and fluffy mo­hair cre­ates these won­der­fully toasty mitts
