JUMPER BACK

Cast on 100 (112: 124: 136: 148: 160) sts using 3.25mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (RS) K3, (P2, K2) to last st, K1.

Row 2 K1, (P2, K2) to last 3 sts, P2, K1.**

Rep these 2 rib rows 4 times more, inc 1 st at each end of last row. [102 (114: 126: 138: 150: 162) sts] Work in patt:

Note On two-colour rows, carry colour not in use loosely over no more than 2 sts at a time. There is no need to break off Yarn B on the single colour rows – just weave it behind the edge stitch. Rows 1 to 6 Using 3.75mm needles and Yarn A, work 6 rows in st st beg with a knit row.

Using 4mm needles, cont in st st as folls:

Rows 7 to 14 Work 6 sts Yarn A, then (6 Yarn B, 6 Yarn A) to end. Rows 15 to 20 As Rows 1 to 6.

Rows 21 to 24 Work 6 sts Yarn B, then (6 Yarn A, 6 Yarn B) to end. These 24 rows set the patt and needle sizes.

Cont in patt until work measures 61 (62: 62: 63: 65: 65)cm measured through centre of work, ending after a purl row.

SHAPE SHOULDERS

Cast off loosely 9 (10: 11: 12: 13: 14) sts at beg of next 2 rows. [84 (94: 104: 114: 124: 134) sts] Cast off loosely 6 (7: 8: 9: 10: 11) sts at beg of next 8 rows. Slip rem 36 (38: 40: 42: 44: 46) sts on a stitch holder and leave.

FRONT

Work as Back until work measures 24 (26: 28: 28: 30: 32) rows less than Back up to start of shoulder shaping, ending after a purl row.

SHAPE NECK

Next row (RS) Work across 38 (43: 48: 53: 58: 63) sts, turn.

Cont on this group of sts for left half of neck. ***Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 5 rows. [33 (38: 43: 48: 53: 58) sts] Work 18 (20: 22: 22: 24: 26) rows straight, thus ending at side edge. Note On right half, work 1 more row here.

SHAPE SHOULDER

Cast off loosely 9 (10: 11: 12: 13: 14) sts at beg of next row. [24 (28: 32: 36: 40: 44) sts]

Work 1 row. Cast off loosely 6 (7: 8: 9: 10: 11) sts at beg of next row and the 3 foll alt rows. With RS facing, slip next 26 (28: 30: 32: 34: 36) sts (centre sts) on a stitch holder and leave.

Neatly rejoin yarns to neck edge and work to end of row. Complete as left half of neck working from *** to end.

SLEEVES

Cast on 44 (48: 48: 52: 52: 56) sts using 3.25mm needles and Yarn A. Work as Back to **. Work 10 (6: 4: 4: 4: 5) more rows in rib. Cont in rib, shaping Sleeve by inc 1 st at each end of next row, then on every foll 6th (8th: 6th: 6th: 6th: 5th) row until there are 56 (58:

62: 66: 66: 72) sts.

Work 5 more rows in rib.

Change to 4mm needles and beg with a knit row for RS work in st st, shaping Sleeve by inc 1 st at each end of next row, then on every foll 10th (8th: 8th: 7th: 6th: 6th) row until there are 72 (78: 82: 88: 92:

98) sts.

Work straight until Sleeve measures 47cm.

Cast off loosely.

POLO NECK

Join left shoulder.

Using 3.25mm needles and Yarn A, RS facing, knit across 36 (38:

40: 42: 44: 46) sts of back neck inc 7 (7: 8: 6: 6: 5) sts evenly, pick up and K25 (28: 29: 29: 32: 31) sts evenly down left side of front neck, knit across 26 (28: 30: 32: 34: 36) sts of front neck inc 9 (8:

10: 8: 7: 7) sts evenly, finally pick up and K25 (28: 29: 29: 32: 30) sts evenly up right side of neck. [128 (137: 146: 146: 155: 15 ) sts] Row 1 (WS) P2, (K7, P2) to end. Row 2 K2, (P7, K2) to end. These 2 rows form rib. Work 6 more rows. Change to 3.75mm needles and work 12 more rows. Change to 4mm needles and cont until work measures 18cm from beginning.

Cast off loosely in rib.

MAKING UP

Block pieces gently, following any instructio­ns on the ball band. Join right shoulder and side edges of Polo Neck, joining first 12 rows of Polo Neck in mattress stitch with RS of Front facing, and remainder with WS facing, thus reversing seam for Polo Neck when it is folded over.

Stitch cast-off edge of Sleeves to upper Front and Back. Join side and Sleeve seams.
