2 balls col. 9 Crochet hook: Size 5 mm Gauge: Measurements are taken after slightly blocking swatch. Using MERINO ARAN and size 5 mm crochet hook, in Double crochet: 12 sts and 6 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

SWEATER Back
Note: Begin to work the Granny square. Granny square: Using AZTECA work a Magic ring and continue to work following chart A. Work a total of 15 rows (= 60 motifs). Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Note: the Granny square measures 44 x 44 cm.
Sides of the Granny square: using MERINO ARAN chain 3 sts and continue to work following chart B. Continue to repeat the 7th row until you have a total of 15 rows (= 56 sts). Cut yarn and weave in ends. Now work a total of 4 sides, all in the same way.
Join the sides of the Granny square as follows:
Note for the correct way of
joining: See the arrow in chart C. Place the last row of one side along one straight edge of the Granny square, and following chart C join using MERINO ARAN in Single crochet. Join all the sides around the Granny square in the same way.
Front
Work same as back.
Sleeves Note: Begin with the Granny square.
Granny square: Using AZTECA work a Magic ring and continue to work following chart A. Work a total of 11 rows (= 44 motifs). Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Note: the Granny square measures 30 x 30 cm. Sides of the Granny square: Using MERINO ARAN chain 3 sts and
continue to work following chart B. Continue to repeat the 7th row until you have a total of 11 rows (= 40 sts). Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Work a total of 4 sides, all in the same way.
Join the sides of the Granny square as follows: Note for the correct way of
joining: See the arrow in chart C. Place the last row of one side along one straight edge of the Granny square, and following chart C join using MERINO ARAN in Single crochet.
Join all the sides around the Granny square in the same way.
Work the other sleeve in the same way.
Finishing
Very gently block the pieces.
Entire garment is sewn using Side seam technique.
Sew shoulder seams, 20 cm from each edge.
Sew in sleeves, matching center of sleeve top to shoulder seams and the beginning of sleeve shaping 21 cm from shoulder seam.
With garment completely open, very gently block the seams.
Sew side and underarm seams.
Lower edge finishing: Using MERINO ARAN work 2 rows Double crochet along lower edge, over 146 sts. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Neck finishing: Using MERINO ARAN work 2 rows Double crochet along neck edges, over 60 sts. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Sleeve finishing: Using MERINO ARAN work 2 rows Double crochet around the cuff, over 52 sts. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Sleeve tie: Using MERINO ARAN work a crochet chain, 35 cm in length. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Work another tie in the same way.
Weave the tie through the first row of the sleeve finishing, slightly
gather and tie into a knot.
POLO NECK
Chain 34 sts and continue to work in Treble crochet, replacing the first stitch on each row by 2 chain sts. When total length is 60 cm cut yarn and weave in ends.
Finishing
Using Side seam technique sew the beginning to the end of work.
