when making up sew seams just half a stitch in from the edge.

Back

Cast on 57 (63) 71 (79) sts with 7 mm needles. Knit in pattern I, beginning with k1. After 4 cm change to 9 mm needles and knit in pattern II, decreasing 11 (13) 15 (19) sts evenly over the first row = 46 (50) 56 (60) sts. Armholes: At 56 (55) 54 (52) cm from the cast-on, place a marker at each end of the row, keep knitting straight.

Shoulders: At 20 (21) 22 (24) cm from the markers cast off at each end of every other row: 3 sts 3 times + 4 sts once (3 sts once + 4 sts 3 times) 4 sts 3 times + 5 sts once (4 sts once + 5 sts 3 times). Neck: At

the same time, when back measures 77 cm cast off the middle 18 (18) 20 (20) sts. Work each side separately, casting off 1 st at neck edge after 2 more rows.

Left front

Cast on 40 (44) 48 (52) sts with 7 mm needles. Knit in pattern I, beginning with p1. After 4 cm allocate pattern as foll: 1 edge st, 2 sts in pattern I, 27 sts in pattern II, 1 edge st, decreasing 9 (10) 12 (13) sts evenly over the first row = 31 (34) 36 (39) sts. At 56 (55) 54 (52) cm from the cast-on, place a marker at the right edge for length. At 20 (21) 22 (24) cm from marker, for

shoulder, cast off at the right edge on every other row: cast off 4 sts 3 times (4 sts once + 5 sts twice) 5 sts twice + 6 sts once (6 sts 3 times). Then for the hood, cast on 12 (14) 16 (18) sts at the right edge = 31 (34) 36 (39) sts. When front measures 101 cm cast off at the right edge to shape hood: cast off 1 st once, then 1 st after 4 rows once and every other row: 1 st once, then twice more, 3 sts once and 23 (26) 28 (31) sts once.
