MAKING UP

Using coordinating colours, join all sides together using mattress stitch. Where there are two strands, use both for sewing up, where layer was knitted in one strand, use one strand to sew. Where fabric is in layers, work first the outer layer (Lantern Cage Layer) and then sew on the WS inner layer (Lantern Light Layer). Weave in all ends. Block gently, following any instructions on the ball band. Do not block the rolled edge and Rib to help keep its shape and elasticity.

FOR THE COWL

You may wish to leave a small opening at the bottom of the Cowl for a more comfortable fit. For this, chose a more stretchy edge for the bottom and do not join sides of the Rib part together. If desired, embellish ends of opening with pompoms.

FOR THE MITTS

Sew Thumb gusset rib sides together along the straight edge to create a Thumb, then continue to sew together the Layers part and the rib.
