EYELET PULLOVER FRONT

Cast on 92 (104: 116: 128: 140) sts using 4mm needles, Yarn A and the long-tail method.

Note Slip the first stitch on every row throughout until Front measures 19cm from cast-on edge. When slipping first stitch, ignore first stitch given in pattern as this has already been worked.

LARGE EYELET AND RIB PATTERN

Note Stitch count changes on Rows 2 and 3. Check stitch count after Rows 1, 3 and 4 only.

Row 1 (WS) K1, *K2, P2, K2, P6; rep from * to last 7 sts, K2, P2, K3. Row 2 P1, *P2, K2, P2, K3tog, yo, sssk; rep from * to last 7 sts, P2, K2, P3.

Row 3 K1, *K2, P2, K2, P1, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P1; rep from * to last 7 sts, K2, P2, K3.

Row 4 P1, *P2, K2, P2, K6; rep from * to last 7 sts, P2, K2, P3. Rep Rows 1 to 4 twice more, then Rows 1 to 3 once more, thus ending after a WS row.

LARGE EYELET AND STOCKING STITCH PATTERN

Change to 4.5mm needles and Yarn B.

Row 2 Purl.

Row 4 P1, *P7, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P1; rep from * to last 7 sts, P7. Rep Rows 1 to 4 until Front measures 40 (40: 40: 40: 39)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a Row 4.**

Row 2 Purl.

Row 3 K1, *k3tog, yo, sssk; rep from * to last st, K1.

Row 4 P1, *P1, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P1; rep from * to last st, P1. Rep Rows 1 to 4 another 6 (7: 8: 9: 10) times, ending after a Row 4.

SHAPE RIGHT FRONT NECK

Next row K37 (43: 49: 55: 61), cast off 18 sts, knit to end (Row 1 of pattern).

Turn and work on last 37 (43: 49: 55: 61) sts only.

Note When shaping neck, when you can’t work a full 6-st repeat work in st st instead.

Work 1 row straight in patt.

Cast off 3 sts at neck edge of next and 2 foll alt rows.

Work 1 row straight in patt.

Cast off 2 sts at neck edge of next row. [26 (32: 38: 44: 50) sts] Work 3 rows straight, ending after a Row 4 of pattern.

Knit 1 row.

Cast off 12 (15: 18: 21: 24) sts and purl to end.

Knit 1 row.

Cast off rem 14 (17: 20: 23: 26) sts.

SHAPE LEFT FRONT NECK

Rejoin yarn with WS facing at neck edge to rem 37 (43: 49: 55: 61) sts.

Keeping pattern correct as before, cast off 3 sts at neck edge of next and 2 foll alt rows.

Work 1 row straight in patt.

Cast off 2 sts at neck edge of next row. [26 (32: 38: 44: 50) sts] Work 4 rows straight, ending after a Row 4 of pattern.

Cast off 12 (15: 18: 21: 24) sts and knit to end.

Purl 1 row.

Cast off rem 14 (17: 20: 23: 26) sts.

BACK

Work as for Front to **, slipping the first stitch on every row as before for the first 24cm of Back. [92 (104: 116: 128: 140) sts]

Back measures 40 (40: 40: 40: 39)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a Row 4.

Continue as set for another 5cm, ending after a Row 4 of Large Eyelet and Stocking Stitch pattern. Back should measure 45 (45: 45: 45: 44)cm from cast-on edge.

LARGE EYELET

Next row K31 (37: 43: 49: 55), cast off 30 sts, knit to end (Row 1 of pattern).

Cast on 50 (50: 50: 62: 62) sts using 4mm needles and Yarn A and long tail method.

LARGE EYELET RIB

Row 1 (WS) P2, K2, *P6, K2, P2, K2; rep from * to last 10 sts, P6, K2, P2.

Row 2 K2, P2, *k3tog, yo, sssk, P2, K2, P2; rep from * to last 10 sts, k3tog, yo, sssk, P2, K2.

Row 3 P2, K2, *P1, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P1, K2, P2, K2; rep from * to last 7 sts, P1, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P1, K2, P2.

Row 4 K2, P2, *K6, P2, K2, P2; rep from * to last 10 sts, K6, P2, K2. Rep Rows 1 to 4 twice more then Rows 1 to 3 once more.

LARGE EYELET AND STOCKING STITCH

Change to 4.5mm needles and Yarn B.

Row 1 (RS) K1, M1, knit to last st, M1, K1. [2 sts inc’d]

Row 2 Purl.

Row 3 K5, *k3tog, yo, sssk, K6; rep from * to last 11 sts, k3tog, yo, sssk, K5.

Row 4 P5, *P1, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P7; rep from * to last 8 sts, P1, (K, P, K, P) into yo, P6.

Work 4 (2: 2: 2: 2) more rows straight in pattern.

Keeping pattern correct, increase at each end of next row and 10 (14: 14: 11: 11) following 8th (6th: 6th: 6th: 6th) rows, taking new stitches into pattern once you have at least 13 sts in plain st st at each edge of Sleeve. [74 (82: 82: 88: 88) sts]

When increases are complete work even until Sleeve measures 49 (49: 49: 49: 48)cm from cast-on edge.

Cast off.

NECK EDGING

Join Front and Back at shoulder seams.

With RS facing, Yarn B and 4mm circular needle, pick up 116 sts evenly around neck edge .

Work 6 rounds in stocking stitch (knit every round).

Cast off loosely.

MAKING UP

1 Block gently to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.

2 Sew Sleeves to body, matching Sleeve tops with large eyelet sections on body.

3 Sew side and underarm seams starting 19cm up from cast-on edge on front and 24cm on back to leave a long side vent.

4 If desired, work double crochet edging along edges of vent to prevent curling, matching yarn colours.
