STRIPY SLIPPERS (MAKE 2)
Note These slippers are worked flat and sewn together afterwards. Follow the colour-coded diagram when sewing your slippers together. Each line has a corresponding line in the same colour that you will sew to. The length of the slippers can be adjusted when knitting the underside of the foot section and topside of foot section. Two balls of yarn should still be enough for these adjustments.
UNDERSIDE OF HEEL
Cast on 10 (14: 18) sts using 4mm needles.
Row 1 Knit to end.
Row 2 Knit to end.
Row 3 K1, M1, knit to last st, M1, K1. [12 (16: 20) sts] Row 4 Knit.
Rows 5 to 14 Rep Rows 3 and 4 a further five times. [22 (26: 30) sts]
UNDERSIDE OF FOOT
Working an even number of rows, knit until piece measures approx 4cm less than the underside of your foot.
TOE SECTION
Next row Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [20 (24: 28) sts] Next row Knit to end.
Rep last two rows five more times. [10 (14: 18) sts] Rep Rows 3 and 4 of Underside of Heel section six times. [22 (26: 30) sts]
TOPSIDE OF FOOT
Knit to match the Underside of Foot section, casting on 13 (15: 17) sts at the end of the final row. [35 (41: 47) sts]
ANKLE
Next row Knit to end, cast on 13 (15: 17) sts. [48 (56: 64) sts] Knit 9 rows.
Change to 6mm needles.
Next row Knit to end.
Next row Purl to end.
Next row (C4B) to end.
Next row Purl to end.
Next row K2, (C4F) to last 2 sts, K2. Next row Purl to end.
Rep last 4 rows 3 more times.
Change to 4mm needles.
Starting with a purl row, work 15 rows of reverse st st. Cast off.
