Size: One size Finished measurements: Top edge approx. 135 cm Height at midpoint approx. 80 cm Materials: Novita, Baby Merino. Content: 100% merino wool. 50 g = 230 m.

6 balls col 011 white Needles: Size 3 mm Tension: 23 sts of the lace pattern = 10 cm.

Stitch patterns Lace pattern: follow the chart and the written instructions. Garter stitch: knit all rows.

Note The starting point is at the corner on the lower edge.

Cast on 5 sts and knit the WS row. Begin the lace pattern following the chart: Row 1: (RS) k2, yo, k1, yo, k2 = 7 sts. Row 2: k7. Row 3: k2, yo, k3, yo, k2 = 9 sts. Row 4: k9.

Work rows 5–92 of the chart. 1 st increased at both ends on all RS rows, 97 sts now on the needles. Continue as established. The lace sections at both ends stay at 32 sts throughout. At the middle lace section, 2 sts increased on all RS rows and two 8 st pattern repeats increased per 16 rows. The pattern repeats are marked in red on the chart.

When the piece measures approx. 80 cm, finish on a WS row. Then work 3 rows in garter st and loosely bind off in pattern on the WS.

Finishing Pin the shawl to measurements and steam lightly.

Make tassels for both sides. Cut five approx. 30 cm pieces of yarn for each tassel. Fold the yarns once, then pull the folded end through the edge of the shawl. Pass the open end through the other end and tighten. Make a tassel for every other hole on the lace.
