Tension: Patterns I - III, 4 mm needles: 28 sts = 10 cm wide. 31 rows = 10 cm high. Tip 1: The back is 7 cm longer than the front.

Pattern I: 4 mm + 4 mm needles: Vertical stripes with cables, according to chart. RS rows are shown. On WS rows knit the sts as they face you or as described. Repeat rows 1 – 6.

Pattern Ia: 4 mm + 4 mm needles: Vertical stripes with cables, according to chart. RS rows are shown. On WS rows knit the sts as they face you or as described. Repeat rows 1 – 6.

Pattern II: 4 mm needles: cable over 24 sts, according to chart. RS rows are shown. On WS rows knit the sts as they face you. Knit rows 1 – 6, 9 times [5 times], see tip 2, rows 7 – 48 once, and then repeat rows 5 – 48. Pattern III: 4 mm needles: cable over 24 sts, according to chart. RS rows are shown. On WS rows knit the sts as they face you. Knit rows 1 – 4, 10 times [6 times], see tip 2, rows 5 – 18 once, and then repeat rows 3 – 18.

Front Knit as for back (see tips 1 + 2). After 24 rows continue with 4 mm needles. At a length of 31 (29) cm place a marker at each end of the row, keep knitting straight.

Neck: When front measures 42 cm cast off the middle 24 (28) sts, then at neck edge either side cast off 4 sts once, 3 sts twice, 2 sts 4 times and 1 st 3 times on alt rows. Cast off for shoulders at 23 (25) cm from the markers. Sleeves Cast on 70 (86) sts with 4 mm needles. Knit with foll distributi­on

At the same time, for the side shaping, inc 1 st at each end of the row. Rep inc in this way on every 10th row twice, every 8th row 3 times, every 6th row 4 times, every 4th row 8 times and every other row 4 times = 114 (130) sts. Incorporat­e the new sts into pattern I or Ia as soon as possible. When sleeve measures 47 cm cast off all sts loosely, in pattern.

Finishing Close seams.

Neckband: With the circular needle, pick up 147 (163) sts (front = 89 (97) sts, back = 58 (66) sts). Knit 6 rnds in pattern IV, then loosely cast off all sts. Set in sleeves between the markers on the front and back.
