Work in 2x2 rib until Back measures 6cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row and dec 0 (0: 0: 2: 2) sts on final row.

Change to 4.5mm needles.

Beg with a RS (knit) row, cont in st st until Back measures 43 (44: 45: 45: 46)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

SHAPE ARMHOLES

Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 (2: 2: 2: 4) rows.

Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 (2: 4: 4: 4) rows.

Next row (RS) Cast off 4 (5: 5: 6: 6) sts, patt until there are 15 (15: 16: 17: 17) sts on right needle, turn and cont on these sts only for right shoulder and neck.

SLEEVES

Cast off.

COLLAR

Cast on 110 (114: 118: 122: 126) sts using 4mm needles. Work in 2x2 rib for 7cm and leave sts on hold.

FINISHING

Join shoulder seams.

Graft collar to edge of neck, then join the short ends of the neckband.

Sew top of sleeves to edge of armholes.

Sew sleeve seams and sides of sweater.

Weave in ends.

Block gently to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.
