Back

With needles size 6 mm cast on 78 (84) 90 (96) sts.

Row 1 + 2: Purl.

Row 3: Knit.

Row 4: Purl.

In the following work in stockinett­e stitch (RS knit, WS purl).

At a height of 56 (58) 60 (62) cm cast off on both sides for the armholes:

Row 1: 5 sts,

Row 2: 1 st,

Row 4: 1 st.

In every 2nd foll row cast off on both sides further 14 (16) 18 (20) x 1 st = 36 (38) 40 (42) sts. Bind off all sts at a height of 74 (78) 82 (86) cm.

Right front

With needles size 6 mm cast on 39 (42) 45 (48) sts.

Work row 1–4 as for the back, then work in stockinett­e stitch.

Bind off for the armhole at the left side (front side shows to you) at a height of 56 (58) 60 (62) cm 4 sts, then in row 2 1 st and in row 4 1 st. Bind off in every foll 2nd row 1 st – 14 (16) 18 (20) x.

At a height of 63 (65) 67 (69) cm cast off at the right side for neck shaping 4 (5) 6 (7) sts, then in every 2nd row 2 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts und 5 (7) 9 (11) x 1 st.

Left front

With needles size 6 mm cast on 47 (50) 53 (56) sts, 8 of sts make the border.

Row 1 + 2: Purl.

Row 3: (RS, the border is at the end of row) 1 edge st, k38 (41) 44 (47), border = p6, k2.

Row 4: Slip 2 sts (here and in the foll slip these sts in every WS, yarn front, then p until end of row.

Row 5: As row 3.

Row 6: As row 4.

Cont working in this way.

To avoid a tension in the border, work from row 8 in every 8th row shortened rows. Work at the left side the border (slip 2 sts, p6), then slip the next st (turning st, yarn front, turn work), move slipped st to right needle with yarn over needle (right side).

Next row (left side): Knit tog turn st and yarn over.

Bind off for the armhole at the right side (front side shows to you) at a height of 56 (58) 60 (62) cm 4 sts, then in row 2 1 st and in row 4 1 st. Bind off in every foll 2nd row 1 st – 14 (16) 18 (20) x.

At a height of 63 (65) 67 (69) cm cast off at the left side for neck shaping 12 (13) 14 (15) sts, then in each 2nd row 2 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts and 5 (7) 9 (11) x 1 st.

The border of the right front is made extra, it consists of 9 (9) 10 (10) pattern repeats.

Using needles size 7 mm cast on 84 (84) 93 (93) sts (for sizes 34-36 and 38-40 9 x 9 + 3 = 84, for sizes 42-44 and 46-48 10 x 9 + 3 = 93). Work with needles size 6 mm the 8 rows from the pattern descriptio­n (chart).

Row 9 + 10: Knit.

Row 11: Cast off all sts. Dampen and block the border and sew it on the right front.

Note:

It is not necessary to make buttonhole­s. In row 7 (where working together the sts) appears a small hole, while working the pattern.

Sleeves (2 x)

With needles size 7 mm cast on 39 (43) 48 (52) sts. Work all foll rows with needles size 6 mm.

Arrangemen­t of stitches (see schematic too):

Size 34-36: 4 x 9 + 3 = 39 sts. Size 38-40: 4 x 9 + 7 = 43 sts; from

both sides of pattern repeat 4 more sts.

Size 42-44: 5 x 9 + 3 = 48 sts; from both sides of pattern repeat 2 more sts

Size 46-48: 5 x 9 + 7 = 52 sts; from both sides of pattern repeat 4 more sts = 4 (4) 5 (5) pattern repeats (width). 1 repeat = 9 sts and 8 rows.

Row 1: 1 edge st, k1 (3) 1 (3), 1 yarn over, k8, 1 yarn over, k1, 1 yarn over, k8, 1 yarn over, k1, 1 yarn over and so on. K2 (4) 2 (4) at the end of row.

Row 2: 1 edge st, k2 (4) 2 (4), p8, k3, p8, k3 and so on. K3 (5) 3 (5) at the end of row.

Row 3: 1 edge st, k2 (4) 2 (4), 1 yarnover, k8, 1 yarn over, k3, 1 yarn over, k8, 1 yarn over, k3, 1 yarn over and so on. K3 (5) 3 (5) at the end of row.

Row 4: 1 edge st, k3 (5) 3 (5), p8, k5, p8, k5 and so on. K4 (6) 4 (6) at the end of row.

Row 5: 1 edge st, k3 (5) 3 (5), 1 yarnover, k8, 1 yarn over, k5, 1 yarn over, k8, 1 yarn over, k5, 1 yarn over and so on. K4 (6) 4 (6) at the end of row.

Row 6: 1 edge st, k4 (6) 4 (6), p8, k7, p8, k7 and so on. K5 (7) 5 (7) at the end of row.

Row 7: 1 edge st, k4 (6) 4 (6), k4tog to left, k4tog to right, k7, k4tog to left, k4tog to right, k7 and so on. K5 (7) 5 (7) at end of row.

Row 8: Knit.

Row 9: As row 1.

Cont in this way until the end of repeat 6 (approx. 22 cm, after row 48).

From row 49 knit all rows.

Increases

Increases starts on row 33.

Row 33: Inc 1 st each side, then once again in row 41 and row 49 (2 x in each 8th row).

Then inc in each 6th row (row 55, 61, 67, 73) 1 st each side = 53 (57) 62 (66) sts.

Cont working without increases until row 78, from row 49 knit all rows. Row 79: Cast off for the top shaping on each side 4 (5) 6 (6) sts, then in 2nd row on each side 1 st, then in each 4th row on each side 5 x 1 st, then in each 2nd row on each side 9 (10) 11 (13) x 1 st. Cast off rem 15 (15) 16 (16) sts in row 121 (123) 127 (129).

Finishing

Close seams.

With needles size 5 mm pick up from neckline 117 (121) 125 (129) sts. Work in cuff pattern (k1, p1 in alternatio­n) 10 (10) 12 (12) rows. Cast off with I-cord. For this knit up 3 more sts, k2 and k2 more sts tog. Then put the 3 sts from the right to the left needle and rep: k2, 2ktog, then put the 3 sts from the right to the left needle and rep, until all sts on the left needle are worked. Sew on 3 buttons.

Applicatio­n:

With needles size 6 mm cast on 12 sts.

Row 1: Knit.

Row 2: 1 edge st, slip 1 st, yarn in front, knit, finish the row with 1 st slipped and p1.

Row 3: As row 1.

Row 4: As row 2.

Cont in this way. Cast off in a height of 13 cm. Sew on 1 button at each end of applicatio­n approx. 3 cm from ends. Sew ends of applicatio­n on back approx. 24 cm from neck.
