When only one figure is given, it applies for all sizes.

Ribbed pattern in rows: Multiple of

2 sts + 2 selvage sts.

Row 1: selvage st, (k1, p1) to end of row, selvage st.

Row 2: Work sts as they appear. Repeat row 1 and 2.

Half brioche pattern: multiples of 2 sts + 2 selvage sts.

Row 1 (WS): selvage st, (k1, p1) to end of row, selvage st.

Row 2 (RS): selvage st, *brk1 (k1 st together with the st directly below it), p1, repeat from * to last st, selvage st.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 for pattern.

Brioche knit 1 st (brk1): work like a knit stitch but knit the st together with the st directly below it.

Back

Cast on 72 (78) 84 st in White, work in border pattern for 3 cm. Change to Marine and continue working in the half brioche pattern.

When the piece measures 11,5 (13) 14,5 cm = 46 (52) 58 rows from the border, first change to White and work for 11,5 (13) 14,5 cm = 46 (52) 58 rows, then change to Berry and work to the end of the back section.

At the same time, when the piece measures 33,5 (37,5) 41,5 cm = 134 (150) 166 rows from the top of the border, bind off the center 24 (26) 28 sts for the neck opening and finish working the two sides separately.

Neck shaping: bind off 1 st at each neck edge every 4th row twice. When the piece measures 36 (40) 44 cm = 144 (160) 176 rows from the border, bind off the remaining 22 (24) 26 shoulder sts on each side. Total length = 39 (43) 47 cm.

Left front

Cast on 34 (36) 40 sts in White and work in border pattern for 3 cm. Change to Marine and continue working in the half brioche pattern. When the piece measures 11,5 (13) 14,5 cm = 46 (52) 58 rows from the border, change to White and continue working for 11,5 (13) 14,5 cm = 46 (52) 58 rows, then change to Berry and work to the end of the front section.

At the same time, when the piece measures 31,5 (34,5) 37,5 cm = 126 (138) 150 rows from the border, bind off at the left edge for the neck opening 4 sts once, then bind off every 4th row, 3 st once, then 2 st 1x (1x) 2x, then 1 st 3x. When the piece measures 36 (40) 44 cm = 144 (160) 176 rows from the border, bind off the remaining 22 (24) 26 shoulder sts.

Right front:

Work in mirror image to the left front.

Sleeves:

Using White, cast on 34 (38) 38 sts and work in the border pattern for 3 cm. Change to Marine and continue working in the half brioche pattern. When the sleeve measures 9,5 (10,5) 11,5 cm = 38 (42) 46 rows from the border (cuff), change to White and continue working for 9,5 (10,5) 11,5 cm = 38 (42) 46 rows, then change to Berry and work the rest of the sleeve.

At the same time, starting after the cuff, inc at each edge for the sleeve shaping: 1 st every 10th row 7x, then 1 st every 12th row 3x (1 st every 8th row once, then 1 st every 12th row 9x) 1 st every 10th row 13x = 54 (58) 64 sts.

When the sleeve measures 29 (32) 35 cm = 116 (128)140 rows from the cuff, bind off all sts.

Total length = 32 (35) 38 cm. Work the 2nd sleeve in the same way.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams. Sew the side seams, leaving the top 13 (14) 15 cm open for the armholes. Sew the sleeve seams; then sew the sleeves into the armholes.

For the front placket, using the circular needle and White, pick up 64 (76) 80 sts from the straight edge of the right front. Continue working these st in the border pattern.

In the 4th row (= RS), work 4 buttonholes as follows: work 3 (2) 3 sts in pattern, bind off 2 sts, * work 14 (18) 18 sts in pattern, bind off 2 sts, repeat from * 2x more, work 11 (12) 15 sts in pattern. In the following WS row, cast on new sts in place of each set of bound-off sts. Work 2 more rows in pattern, then bind off all sts in a WS row.

Work the placket on the left front section in the same way, but omit the buttonholes.

For the neckline border, using the circular needle and White, pick up a total of 83 (91) 99 sts from the plackets, the front neck edges and the back neck opening. Continue working these sts in the border pattern, beginning and ending with k1. In the 4th row

(= RS), work 1 buttonhole as follows: work 3 sts in pattern, bind off 2 sts, then work to the end of the row. In the following WS row, cast on new sts in place of the bound-off sts. Work 2 more rows in pattern, then bind off all sts in a WS row. Weave in all ends and sew on the buttons.
