Langyarns Wooladdict­s Air. Content: 84% merino extra fine, 16% nylon.

50 g = 125 m.

8 balls – col 1001.0039 wood 2 balls – col 1001.0035 navy

1 ball – col 1001.0075 brick

Needles:

Circular needle size 5 mm (80-100 cm)

Tension:

Pattern I, 5 mm needles: 15 sts = 10 cm wide. 24 rows = 10 cm long.

Tip 1: The poncho is knitted cross-wise. The arrow on the schematic indicates the direction of knitting.

Tip 2: When you change colour the end of the yarn will be knotted into the fringe. Leave ends about 15 cm long.

Pattern I: 5 mm needles: reverse stocking st = RS p, WS k.

Colour sequence: 21 rows wood, 2 rows brick, 1 row wood, 5 rows navy, 1 row wood, 2 rows brick, 37 rows wood, 3 rows brick, 1 row

wood, 8 rows navy, 1 row wood, 3 rows brick, 37 rows wood, 2 rows brick, 1 row wood, 5 rows navy, 1 row wood, 2 rows brick, 21 rows wood.

Front and back

Cast on 330 sts with wood and 5 mm needles. Knit in pattern I and follow the colour sequence. At about 32 cm from cast-on (after the 4th row of navy), cast off 68 sts in the middle without working yarn and immediatel­y cast on 68 new sts in their place. Cast off all sts at about 64 cm from cast-on.

Finishing

For fringes, cut strands of yarn about 30 cm long. Knot fringes at the bottom of the poncho (as shown in the schematic), about 26 in matching colours along lower edges of both front and back. Knot 4-5 strands together for each one.
