Before beginning, wind a yarn bobbin with Yarn B.

BODY

Start at the base.

Cast on 12 sts with 3mm needles and Yarn B (main ball).

Row 1 (WS) Purl.

Row 2 *Kfb; rep from * to end. [24 sts]

Row 3 Purl.

Row 4 *Kfb, K1; rep from * to end. [36 sts] Row 5 Purl.

Row 6 *Kfb, K2; rep from * to end. [48 sts] Row 7 Purl.

Row 8 K20B, join Yarn A and K8A, join second end of Yarn B (bobbin) and K20B.

Row 9 P19B, P10A, P19B.

Row 10 K18B, K12A, K18B.

Row 11 P17B, P14A, P17B.

Row 12 K17B, K14A, K17B.

Rows 13 to 19 Rep Rows 11 and 12 four times, then Row 11 once.

Row 20 With Yarn B (K3, k2tog) 3 times, K2, with

Yarn A K2, k2tog, K6, k2tog, K2, with Yarn B K2, (k2tog, K3) 3 times. [40 sts]

Row 21 P14B, P12A, P14B.

Row 22 K14B, K12A, K14B.

Row 23 P14B, P12A, P14B.

Rows 24 to 27 Rep Rows 22 and 23 twice. Row 28 With Yarn B (K2, k2tog) 3 times, K2, with Yarn A K1, k2tog, K6, k2tog, K1, with Yarn B K2, (k2tog, K2) 3 times. [32 sts]

Row 29 P11B, P10A, P11B.

Row 30 K11B, K10A, K11B.

Row 31 P11B, P10A, P11B.

Rows 32 to 35 Rep Rows 30 and 31 twice. Row 36 With Yarn B (K1, k2tog) 3 times, K2, with Yarn A k2tog, K6, k2tog, with Yarn B K2, (k2tog, K1) 3 times. [24 sts]

Row 37 P8B, P8A, P8B.

Row 38 K8B, K8A, K8B.

Row 39 P8B, K8A, P8B.

Rows 40 to 43 Rep Rows 38 and 39 twice. Row 44 With Yarn B (k2tog, K2) twice, with Yarn A (k2tog, K2) twice, with Yarn B (K2, k2tog) twice. [18 sts]

Row 45 P6B, P6A, P6B. Cast off keeping colours correct. Gather around cast-on sts and pull up tightly. Sew seam as far as 1.5cm from neck. Weave in all loose ends. Stuff and sew rem seam as far as neck then add more filling. Gather around cast-off sts and pull up tightly.

LEGS (MAKE 2)

Start at the foot.

Cast on 24 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn B. Row 1 (WS) Purl.

Row 2 K10, (kfb) 4 times, K10. [28 sts] Rows 3 to 5 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 6 K2tog, K7, cast off 10 sts, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [16 sts]

Row 7 Purl across all sts, keeping tension tight where the sets of sts meet.

Row 8 Kfb, K6, (kfb) twice, K6, kfb. [20 sts] Row 9 Purl.

Row 10 Kfb, K8, (kfb) twice, K8, kfb. [24 sts] Rows 11 to 13 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 14 Kfb, K10, (kfb) twice, K10, kfb. [28 sts]

Rows 15 to 19 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 20 Ssk, K10, k2tog, ssk, K10, k2tog. [24 sts]

Row 21 Purl.

Row 22 Ssk, K8, k2tog, ssk, K8, k2tog. [20 sts]

Row 23 P2tog, P6, (p2tog) twice, P6, p2tog. [16 sts]

Cast off.

Fold so that right sides are facing inwards and sew along seam of foot. Sew seam up back of Leg to cast-off sts. Turn right side out. Use a length of Yarn B to sew seam across top of foot. Add stuffing to foot then lightly stuff Leg. Sew across cast-off sts. Run a length of Yarn B through Body at first dec row, and take it back through to start again. Pull up yarn tightly then run the yarn back through to first exit point. Pull up yarn tightly again then secure ends. Pin Legs each side of Body so that top of Legs are in line with these dents in the Body and front of Legs touch Yarn A

section on front of Body. Sew Legs securely to Body and weave in loose ends.

HEAD

Start at front of face.

Cast on 6 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn B. Row 1 (RS) (Kfb) 6 times. [12 sts]

Row 2 and all WS rows Purl.

Row 3 (K1, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K1) twice. [16 sts] Row 5 (K2, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K2) twice.

[20 sts]

Row 7 (K3, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K3) twice.

[24 sts]

Row 9 (K4, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K4) twice.

[28 sts]

Row 11 (K5, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K5) twice. [32 sts]

Row 13 (K6, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K6) twice. [36 sts]

Row 15 (K7, kfb) twice, K4, (kfb, K7) twice. [40 sts]

Row 17 K17, kfb, k4, kfb, K17. [42 sts] Rows 18 to 22 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 23 *K5, k2tog; rep from * to end. [36 sts] Row 25 *K4, k2tog; rep from * to end. [30 sts] Row 27 *K3, k2tog; rep from * to end. [24 sts] Row 29 *K2, k2tog; rep from * to end. [18 sts] Row 31 *K1, k2tog; rep from * to end. [12 sts] Row 32 (WS) *P2tog; rep from * to end. [6 sts] Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.

Place eyes each side of Head about 4cm back from cast-on sts at front of face, leaving about 3.5cm between them. Firmly secure eyes with backs provided. With right sides facing, gather around cast-on sts and pull up tightly then sew seam, leaving a 3cm gap at base. Turn right side out and stuff, starting at front of face. Run a length of Yarn B from back of eye to base of Head for each eye to help define face shaping. Cut a length of Yarn H and separate the strands. Use a single strand to work a Y shape in straight stitches for nose, followed by 2 curved stitches below for mouth, using photograph as a guide. Secure all ends in gap at base of Head.

OUTER EARS (MAKE 2)

Cast on 5 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn B. Row 1 (WS) Purl.

Row 2 (Kfb) 5 times. [10 sts]

Rows 3 to 9 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 10 Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [8 sts]

Rows 11 to 13 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 14 Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [6 sts] Row 15 Purl.

Row 16 Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [4 sts] Row 17 Purl.

Row 18 Ssk, k2tog, pass second st over first. [1 st]

Break yarn and fasten off.

INNER EARS (MAKE 2)

Cast on 4 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn A. Row 1 (RS) (Kfb) 4 times. [8 sts] Rows 2 to 8 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 9 Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [6 sts] Rows 10 to 12 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 13 Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. [4 sts] Row 14 Purl.

Row 15 Ssk, k2tog, pass second st over first. [1 st]

Break yarn and fasten off.

Place right sides of Outer Ear and Inner Ear tog and holding the cast-on edges level, sew seam around ear, leaving the gap at base. Turn right side out and flatten with fingers. Sew rem seam then fold at base to form shape of ear. Hold front of ears in place with a single stitch at base. Sew ears to top of head with about 3cm between them at base. Weave in all loose ends securely in gap at base of Head. Sew rem seam of Head (adding some more filling if necessary). Pin head in position on top of Body then sew in place securely.

JACKET

Start at the base.

Cast on 48 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn M.

Rows 1 to 4 Knit.

Row 5 (RS) Knit.

Row 6 K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2.

Rows 7 and 8 Rep Rows 5 and 6.

Row 9 *K4, k2tog; rep from * to last 6 sts, K6. [41 sts]

Row 10 K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2.

Row 11 Knit.

Row 12 K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2.

Rows 13 to 18 Rep Rows 11 and 12 three times. Row 19 *K3, k2tog; rep from * to last 6 sts, K6. [34 sts]

Row 20 K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2.

Row 21 Knit.

Row 22 K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2.

Rows 23 to 26 Rep Rows 21 and 22 twice.

Row 27 *K2, k2tog; rep from * to last 2 sts, K2. [26 sts]

Row 28 K2, purl to last 2 sts, K2.

Row 29 Knit.

Cast off.

Place jacket on Body and, leaving a small gap at front, sew Jacket to neck of Body. Sew Jacket edges to Body.

ARMS (MAKE 2)

Cast on 6 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn B. Row 1 (WS) Purl.

Row 2 *K1, kfb; rep from * to end. [9 sts] Rows 3 to 5 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Change to Yarn M.

Rows 6 and 7 Starting with a RS knit row work in st st.

Row 8 *K2, kfb; rep from * to end. [12 sts] Rows 9 to 11 Starting with a WS purl row work in st st.

Row 12 *K3, kfb; rep from * to end. [15 sts] Row 13 Purl.

Row 14 K6, kfb, K1, kfb, K6. [17 sts] Row 15 Purl.

Row 16 K2tog, K5, kfb, K1, kfb, K5, k2tog. Row 17 Purl.

Rows 18 to 21 Rep Rows 16 and 17 twice. Row 22 (K2tog) 4 times, K1, (k2tog) 4 times. [9 sts]

Cast off purlwise.

Gather around cast-on sts, fold arm and sew seam, leaving a 2.5cm gap. Stuff lightly with filling then sew rem seam. Position Arms each side of body (about 0.5cm down from neck) so that hands are facing the front. Sew in place securely, taking the yarn all the way through to the other Arm occasional­ly to ensure Arms are firmly sewn on. Weave in all loose ends. Using a length of Yarn L, work 4 small straight sts on right front Jacket border to simulate buttons. For pocket tops, use a length of Yarn M to embroider 3 chain sts in a diagonal line, starting about 5 sts up from garter border of Jacket and slanting downwards slightly as you work back. Weave in all loose ends.

TAIL

Cast on 12 sts using 3mm needles and Yarn I.

Rows 1 to 12 Starting on a WS knit row, work in rev st st.

Row 13 (WS) (K2tog) 6 times. [6 sts]

Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.

With bumpy side of rev st st to outside, gather around sts from outer edge, pulling up gently as you go. Add some toy filling then pull again. Add more if needed before pulling up tightly. Place Tail on rear of base so that top is sitting just below Jacket. Sew all the way round Tail to finish. Weave in all loose ends.
