LOVE HEART CUSHION

Notes Unless otherwise specified, use the longtail cast on for all pieces. Use mattress stitch (page 94) to sew the seams.

HEART (MAKE 2) TOP RIGHT BUMP

Cast on 6 sts using 3.5mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (WS) and every WS row Purl.

Row 2 K1, (kfb) 4 times, K1. [10 sts]

Rows 4 and 6 K1, (kfb) twice, knit to last 3 sts, (kfb) twice, K1. [18 sts]

Rows 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 K1, kfb, knit to last 2 sts, kfb, K1. [30 sts]

Break Yarn A, slide sts to end of needle to hold them for later.

TOP LEFT BUMP

Cast on 6 sts onto the needle that is holding the live sts in Yarn A. Rows 1 to 18 Rep Rows 1 to 18 above. [30 sts]

BOTTOM

Both sets of 30 sts for the top bumps should be on the same needle. Slide the two sets of 30 sts tog to work the bottom of the heart using working Yarn A.

Rows 19 to 21 Beg on a WS purl row, work 3 rows in st st.

Row 22 K1, kfb, knit to last 2 sts, kfb, K1. [62 sts]

Rows 23 to 26 Rep Rows 19 to 22. [64 sts]

Rows 27 to 39 Beg on a WS purl row, work 13 rows in st st.

Row 40 K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. [62 sts]

Rows 41 to 45 Beg on a WS purl row, work 5 rows in st st. Rows 46 to 51 Rep Rows 40 to 45. [60 sts]

Row 52 K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. [58 sts]

Rows 53 to 55 Beg on a WS purl row, work 3 rows in st st.

Row 56 K1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1. [56 sts]

Row 57 Purl. Rows 58 to 77 Rep Rows 56 to 57 ten more times. [36 sts] Row 78 K1, sk2po, knit to last 4 sts, k3tog, K1. [32 sts] Row 79 Purl. Rows 80 to 91 Rep Rows 78 and 79 six more times. [8 sts] Row 92 K1, sk2po, k3tog, K1. [4 sts]

Break yarn and thread through rem sts. Pull tight to fasten.
