TWO-TONE JUMPER CABLE PATTERN A

Worked over 8 sts. Row 1 (RS) Knit. Row 2 Purl.

Row 3 P1, T3B, T3F, P1. Row 4 K1, P2, K2, P2, K1. Row 5 T3B, P2, T3F. Row 6 P2, K4, P2.

CABLE PATTERN B

Worked over 8 sts. Row 1 Knit.

Row 2 Purl.

Rows 3 and 4 As Rows 1 and 2. Row 5 C4F, C4B.

Row 6 Purl.

BACK

Cast on 122 (134: 146: 158) sts using Yarn A and 3.5mm needles. Rows 1 to 16 *K1, P1; rep from * to end.

Change to 3.75mm needles.

MAIN STITCH PATTERN

Using Yarn A:

Row 1 (RS) P12 (18: 24: 30), (work Row 1 of Cable A, P7, work Row 1 of Cable B, P7) 3 times, work Row 1 of Cable A, P12 (18: 24: 30).

Row 2 K12 (18: 24: 30), work Row 2 of Cable A, (K7, work Row 2 of Cable B, K7, work Row 2 of Cable A) 3 times, K12 (18: 24: 30). These 2 rows set the position for the cable panels with reverse st st between.

Cont in patt and Yarn A until Back measures 26 (28: 29: 30)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

Cont in patt, working 4 row stripes of Yarn B and 4 row stripes of Yarn B until 8 stripes have been completed.

Cont straight in Yarn B only until Back measures 41 (42: 43: 44)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

SHAPE ARMHOLES

Cast off 5 (7: 9: 11) sts at beg of next 2 rows.

[112 (120: 128: 136) sts]

Cont straight until Back measures 59 (61: 63: 65)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

SHAPE UPPER ARMHOLE

Cast off 6 sts at the beg of next 6 rows. [76 (84: 92: 100) sts]

SHAPE SHOULDERS

Cast off 8 (9: 10: 11) sts at beg of next 4 rows. Leave rem 44 (48: 52: 56) sts on a holder.

FRONT

Work as Back until Front measures 44 (46: 48: 50)cm from cast-on edge, ending with a WS row. [112 (120: 128: 136) sts]

SHAPE LEFT FRONT NECK

Pattern 45 (47: 49: 51) sts, turn and work on these sts only for first side of neck.

Work 1 row straight.

Dec 1 st at end (neck edge) of next and 10 foll RS rows.

[34 (36: 38: 40) sts]

Continue without shaping until Front measures the same as Back to upper arm shaping, ending after a WS row.

SHAPE UPPER ARMHOLE

Cast off 6 sts at beg (armhole edge) of next and 2 foll RS rows. [16 (18: 20: 22) sts]

Work 1 row straight.

SHAPE LEFT FRONT SHOULDER

Next row (RS) Cast off 8 (9: 10: 11) sts, patt to end.

Work 1 row straight. Cast off rem 8 (9: 10: 11) sts.

SHAPE RIGHT FRONT NECK

Place centre 22 (26: 30: 34) sts on a holder, with RS facing, rejoin Yarn B to rem sts and pattern to end. [45 (47: 49: 51) sts]

Work 1 row straight.

Dec 1 st at beg (neck edge) of next and 10 foll RS rows.

[34 (36: 38: 40) sts]

Continue without shaping until Front measures the same as Back to beg of Upper Armhole shaping, ending after a RS row.

SHAPE UPPER ARMHOLE

Cast off 6 sts at beg of next and 2 foll WS rows. [16 (18: 20: 22) sts]

Work 1 row straight.

SHAPE RIGHT FRONT SHOULDER

Next row (WS) Cast off 8 (9: 10: 11) sts, patt to end.

Work 1 row straight. Cast off rem 8 (9: 10: 11) sts.

SLEEVES

Cast on 54 (58: 62: 66) sts using Yarn A and 3.5mm needles. Rows 1 to 16 *K1, P1; rep from * to end.

Change to 3.75mm needles.

MAIN PATTERN

Row 1 P8 (10: 12: 14), work Row 1 of Cable A, P7, work Row 1 of Cable B, P7, work Row 1 of Cable A, P8 (10: 12: 14).

Row 2 K8 (10: 12: 14), work Row 2 of Cable A, K7, work Row 2 of Cable B, K7, work Row 2 of Cable A, K8 (10: 12: 14).

These 2 rows set the position for the cable panels with reverse st st between.

Note Read ahead; stripe pattern and increases are worked AT THE SAME TIME.

Following increases as given below, continue in Yarn A until Sleeve measures 26 (28: 29: 30)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row. Work stripe pattern as for Back, then continue in Yarn B only. AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st at each end of next row, then 6 foll 6th rows, then every foll 8th row to 84 (88: 92: 94) sts.

When increases are complete cont straight until Sleeve measures 45 (45: 46: 46)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row, place a marker at each end of Sleeve.

SHAPE TOP OF SLEEVE

Work 6 (8: 10: 12) rows straight in pattern, ending after a WS row. Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 16 rows. [36 (40: 44: 46) sts] Cast off rem sts.

NECKBAND

Join right shoulder seam.

With RS facing, using 3.5mm needles and Yarn B, pick up and knit 30 sts (approx 3 sts per 4 rows) down left side of front neck, K22 (26: 30: 34) sts from front neck holder, pick up and knit 30 sts up right side of front neck, K44 (48: 52: 56) sts, from back neck holder. [126 (134: 142: 150) sts]

Work 8 rows in a 1x1 rib.

Cast off in rib.

MAKING UP

Join left shoulder and neckband seam. Set in Sleeves using markers at edge of Sleeve to mark joining point between Sleeve and underarm cast offs. Join side and Sleeve seams. Block gently to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ballband.
