Tell us about UK Alpaca...

As alpaca owners and breeders of 25 years, we are committed to producing wonderful luxury natural fibre yarns. They are lovely to knit with and it gives us the opportunity to share with you the best properties of British alpaca fibre, all manufactured in the UK. Starting with our own fibre over 14 years ago, we now collect from typically over 100 fellow alpaca owners all over the UK and Ireland. This allows us to manufacture in the traditional processing mills in Yorkshire at su cient volumes to o er our yarns at a ordable prices, which are comparable to similar imported yarns.

What can knitters find at your shop?

We carry the UK’s largest range of British knitting, crochet and weaving yarns, available in 4ply, DK and chunky weights. We have traditional solid colour yarns and an everwidening selection of hand dyed yarns, dyed locally. Not forgetting our very successful ready knit posh socks and huge variety of exclusive knitting and crochet patterns. If you prefer weaving or machine knitting, we also stock natural shades on cones too!

What will be your highlights for 2021?

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our full range of dyed chunky yarns, some new hand dyed yarns and our continual programme of new pattern designs. Keep an eye on our website! We are really looking forward to catching up with our customers new and old when we are back on the road at the yarn shows as they resurface after lockdown.
