Needles:

Size 4 mm

Tension:

21 sts and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in st st on size 4 mm needles.

Rib patt: K1, p1.

St st: K on RS, p on WS.

Sk2p = slip 1 st as if to knit, knit 2 together, pass slipped st over knitted st.

M1L = lift strand between sts from front to back and knit this strand through the back loop.

M1R = lift strand between sts from the back and knit this strand through the front loop.

Left neckband: Row 1 (RS): Knit to last 5 sts, k4, sl 1 pwise wyib.

Row 2 (WS): P1, [p1, M1R] 3 times, p1.

Row 3: Knit to last 8 sts, [k1, sl 1 pwise wyib] 3 times, k1, sl 1 pwise wyib.

Row 4: P1, [p1, k1] 3 times, p1. Work rows 1 – 4 once, then rep rows 3 and 4.

Right neckband: Row 1 (RS): Sl 1 pwise wyib, k4.

Row 2 (WS): Knit to last 5 sts, [p1, M1R] 3 times, p2.

Row 3: Sl 1 pwise wyib, [k1, sl 1 pwise wyib] 3 times, k1.

Row 4: Knit to last 8 sts [p1, k1] 3 times, p2.

Work rows 1 – 4 once, then rep rows 3 and 4.

Full-fashion inc A [side shaping]: On RS rows: M1R, 1 st in from each edge.

Full-fashion inc B [sleeve shaping]: On RS rows: M1R, 2 sts in from each edge.

Full-fashion dec A [shoulder/ overarm shaping]: At beg of RS row, selvage st, k4, sk2p;

at end of RS row, work to last 8 sts, k3tog, k4, selvage st.

Full-fashion dec B [V-neck shaping]: At beg of RS row, work right neckband over 8 sts, k1, skp;

at end of RS row, work to last 11 sts, k2tog, k1, work left neckband over 8 sts.

Back

With size 4 mm needles cast on 3 sts. Work in st st and working full-fashion inc A, inc 1 st at each end of next 83 (87) 91 RS rows = 169 (177) 185 sts. Work even until piece meas 64 (62,5) 61 cm from cast-on, ending with a WS row.

Shape sleeves: Working fullfashio­n inc B, inc 1 st at each end of next RS row, then every other RS row 7 times, then every RS row twice (then every other RS row 9 times) then every 6th row 3 times, then every 4th row 6 times = 189 (197) 205 sts. Work even until piece meas 75 (75,5) 76 cm from cast on, ending with a WS row.

Shape shoulders/overarms: Working full-fashion dec A, dec 2 sts at each end of next 34 (36) 38 RS rows. At same time, when piece meas 93,5 (95,5) 97,5) cm from cast-on, shape neck as foll: Next row (RS):

Bind off center 45 sts. Working each side separately, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge once, 1 st twice. No sts rem.

Front

Work same as for back until piece meas 70 (72) 74 cm from cast-on, ending with a WS row.

Divide for V-neck: Place marker 2 sts after center st. Next row (RS): Knit to 5 sts before marker, work left neckband over 5 sts, turn and work this side first, leaving rem sts on hold:

Left front: Next row (WS): Work left neckband over 5 sts (8 sts after incs), purl to end. Cont in patt and working full-fashion dec B, dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row 7 times, then every other RS row 16 times. At same time, when same length as back to shoulder, shape shoulder/ overarm at right edge same as for back = 9 sts rem.

Cont in patt for 14,5 cm, then place sts on holder.

Right front: Cast on 3 sts, then with RS facing work right neckband over first 5 sts on hold, knit to end. Complete as for left front, reversing shaping.

Sleeves

With size 4 mm needles cast on

38 (42) 46 sts. Next row (WS): Work in rib patt. Work in st st and shape sleeve as foll: Working full-fashion inc B, inc 1 st at each end of 13 (11) 9th row, then every 12th row 4 times (then every 10th row 5 times, then every 8th row once) then every 8th row 7 times, then every 6th row twice = 48 (56) 66 sts. Work even until piece meas 24 (26) 28 cm from cast-on. Bind off all sts.

Finishing

Pin pieces to measuremen­ts and block. Sew shoulder/overarm seams. Join right and left neckband and sew to back neck. With left neckband overlappin­g right neckband on front part, tack down right neckband with a few sts on WS. Place markers 11 (13) 15 cm down from shoulders/overarms on front and back. Sew on sleeves between markers. Place markers 8,5 (4,5) 0,5 cm down from underarms. Sew side seams between marker and underarm, sew sleeve seams.
