MEN’S JUMPER BACK

**Cast on 84 (96: 108: 116: 128) sts using 4mm needles.

Row 1 (RS) K3, (P2, K2) to last st, K1.

Row 2 K1, (P2, K2) to last 3 sts, P2, K1.

Rep these 2 rib rows until Back measures 7cm, ending after Row 2.** Next row (RS) K4 (10: 6: 12: 6), [M1, K4 (4: 5: 4: 5)] 19 (19: 19: 23: 23) times, M1, K to end. [104 (116: 128: 140: 152) sts]

Next row Purl.

Change to 5mm needles and fisherman’s rib. Row 1 (RS) P2, (K1b, P2) to end.

Row 2 K2, (P1, K2) to end.

These 2 rows form patt.

Cont in patt until work measures 30cm from beg, ending after Row 1. ***Change to 4.5mm needles. Row 1 Purl.

Change to 4mm needles

Rows 2 to 5 Beg with a purl row for RS, work 4 rows in reverse st st.

Change to 4.5mm needles. Row 6 Knit. Row 7 Purl.***

Change to 5mm needles.

Rows 8 to 22 Work 15 rows in fisherman’s rib, beginning with a Row 1.

Work from *** to *** once more. Border Section is now complete.

Change to 5mm needles.

Beg with a Row 1, work in fisherman’s rib until Back measures 48cm BORDER SECTION

from cast-on edge, ending after a Row 2.

SHAPE RAGLAN

Cast off loosely 2 (3: 3: 4: 4) sts at beg of next 2 rows. [100 (110: 122: 132: 144) sts]

SIZES M, L, XL AND XXL ONLY

Row 1 K2, k2togtbl, patt to last 4 sts, k2tog, K2.

[2 sts dec’d]

Row 2 K2, p2tog, patt to last 4 sts, p2togtbl, K2.

[2 sts dec’d]

Row 3 As Row 1.

Row 4 K2, P1, patt to last 3 sts, P1, K2.

Rep the last 4 rows - (1: 4: 6: 9) times more, ending after Row 4. [- (98: 92: 90: 84) sts]

ALL SIZES

Next row K2, k2tog tbl, patt to last 4 sts, k2tog, K2. [2 sts dec’d] Next row K2, P1, patt to last 3 sts, P1, K2.

Rep these 2 rows until 34 (36: 38: 40: 42) sts rem, ending after a WS row.

Slip sts on a stitch holder.

FRONT

Note When K1b occurs at neck edge, work it as K1.

Work as Back until 52 (56: 60: 64: 66) sts rem in the raglan shaping, ending after a WS row.

SHAPE LEFT NECK

Next row K2, k2togtbl, patt 12 (13: 14: 15: 15), turn.

***Cont on this group of 15 (16: 17: 18: 18) sts for left side of neck. Dec at raglan edge as before on RS rows at the same time dec 1 st at neck edge on next 5 rows. [8 (9: 10: 11: 11) sts]

Cont dec at raglan edge only on every RS row until 2 sts rem. Work 1 row.

Cast off.

With RS facing, slip next 20 (22: 24: 26: 28) sts (centre sts) onto a stitch holder. Rejoin yarn neatly at neck edge.

SHAPE RIGHT NECK

Next row Work to last 4 sts, k2tog, K2. [1 st dec’d] Complete as left side of neck working from *** to end.

SLEEVES

Cast on 36 (40: 40: 44: 44) sts using 4mm needles. Work as Back from ** to **.

Next row (RS) K3 (2: 2: 2: 5), [M1, K3 (4: 4: 5: 3)] 10 (9: 9: 8: 11) times, M1, K3 (2: 2: 2: 6). [47 (50: 50: 53: 56) sts]

Next row Purl.

Change to 5mm needles.

Work fisherman’s rib as for Back for 2 (4: 4: 4: 8) rows.

Cont in patt, shaping Sleeve by inc 1 st at each end of next row, then on every foll 6th (4th: 4th: 4th: 4th) row until there are 53 (56: 68: 77: 86) sts, then on every foll 6th row for all sizes until there are 81 (86: 92: 97: 102) sts working extra sts in patt.

Work straight until Sleeve measures 45 (46: 47: 47: 48)cm from beg, measured through centre of work and ending after a WS row.

SHAPE RAGLAN

Cast off loosely 2 (3: 3: 4: 4) sts at beg of next 2 rows.

[77 (80: 86: 89: 94) sts]

Row 1 (RS) K2, k2togtbl, patt to last 4 sts, k2tog, K2. [2 sts dec’d] Row 2 K2, P1, patt to last 3 sts, P1, K2.

Row 3 K3, patt to last 3 sts, K3.

Row 4 As Row 2.

Rep the last 4 rows 0 (1: 0: 1: 1) times more, ending after Row 4. [75 (76: 84: 85: 90) sts]

Now rep Rows 1 and 2 only until 13 (14: 14: 15: 16) sts rem, ending after a Row 4.

Slip sts on a short length of yarn or safety pin and leave.

NECKBAND

Join raglan shapings.

Using a set of four 3.25mm needles or a 3.25mm circular needle, 40cm long, RS facing, knit across 34 (36: 38: 40: 42) sts of Back dec 0 (2: 1: 2: 1) sts evenly across, K13 (14: 14: 15: 16) sts from left Sleeve, pick up and K14 (15: 16: 18: 18) sts evenly down left side of neck, knit across 20 (22: 24: 26: 28) sts of Front dec 0 (2: 1: 2: 1) sts evenly across, pick up and K14 (15: 16: 18; 18) sts evenly up right side of neck, finally K13 (14: 14: 15: 16) sts from right Sleeve.

[108 (112: 120: 128: 136) sts]

Round 1 Knit.

Rounds 2 to 5 Purl.

Round 6 Knit. Rounds 7 to 14 (K2, P2) to end. Cast off in rib.

MAKING UP

Join side and Sleeve seams. Gently block to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.
