Tell us about Eden Cottage Yarns…

We are a small company producing hand-dyed and mill-dyed yarns in classic shades, along with accompanying original designs. The yarns are dyed in simple but gorgeous colours with an emphasis on sustainability and practicality. Victoria started Eden Cottage yarns after she was unable to find the colours she wanted in yarn shops and experimented with dyeing her own. The company was originally named after the cottage Victoria was living in at the time – Eden Valley in Cumbria. She has since relocated to Yorkshire but the name stuck.

What can knitters find at your shop?

Beautiful hand-dyed yarns in small batches (we do have sweater quantities too) and milldyed yarns in our signature colours in larger batches. We also sell patterns, books, kits, accessories and gift vouchers.

What will be your highlights for 2021?

This year is the tenth anniversary of Eden Cottage Yarns which is very exciting but we don’t have many plans – especially due to the pandemic. We will be doing our seasonal stash boxes as usual though: we have just sent out the spring one, the summer one is imminent, and there is usually a spooky one and a winter one too. These include mystery yarn, crochet or knitting patterns, and other treats that we can find that’ll fit into the budget!
