0 (1: 0: 0: 0) on the final row. [77 (83: 89: 97: 105) sts]

Change to 5.5mm needles and starting with a knit row work 2 rows in st st.

Change to 6mm needles and work rows 1-5 of Chart starting at stitch 11 (8: 5: 1: 9). After st 36 rep from st 1.

Change to 5.5mm needles and cont in st st using Yarn A.

CHANGE OF STITCH AND ARMHOLES

Read ahead, patt and armhole shaping happen at the same time. When work meas 34 (35: 36: 36: 37)cm change to 6mm needles and cont from row 6 of Chart.

When work meas 43 (44: 45: 45: 46)cm, shape armholes as foll, cont working Chart AT THE SAME TIME.

Cast off 3 sts at the beg of next 2 (2: 2: 2: 4) rows.

Cast off 2 sts at the beg of next 2 (2: 4: 4: 4) rows.

Cast off 1 st at the beg of next 6 (6: 4: 8: 8) rows.*

Cont working Chart as set on the rem 61 (67: 71: 75: 77) sts. After the final row of the Chart change to 5.5mm needles and cont in st st using Yarn A.

SHOULDERS AND NECK

Cont until work measures 64 (66: 68: 70: 72)cm.

Next row (RS) Cast off 6 (6: 7: 7: 7) sts, work 14 (16: 16: 17: 17) sts, cast off the central 21 (23: 25: 27: 29) sts, work to end.

Next row (WS) Cast off 6 (6: 7: 7: 7) sts, work to central cast off sts, put rem sts on a spare needle. Work will now be completed in 2 sections. **Next row (neck edge) Cast off 2 sts, work to end.

Cast off 6 (7: 7: 7: 7) sts at the beg of next and foll 1 (1: 1: 0: 0) alt rows.

Work 0 (0: 0: 1: 1) row.

Cast off 0 (0: 0: 8: 8) sts.**

With WS facing pick up sts held on spare needle and work from ** to ** above.

FRONT

Work as for Back until *. Then cont on the rem 61 (67: 71: 75: 77) sts.

NECK

Cont until work measures 58 (60: 62: 64: 66)cm.

Next row (RS) Work 26 (28: 29: 30: 30) sts, cast off the central

9 (11: 13: 15: 17) sts, work to end.

Next row (WS) Work to central cast off sts and put rem sts on a spare needle. Work will now be completed in 2 sections.

Cast off 2 sts.

Work 1 row.

Cast off 1 st at the beg of next row and 2 alt rows. Cont on the rem 18 (20: 21: 22: 22) sts until work measures 64 (66: 68: 70: 72)cm.

SHOULDER

Cast off at the shoulder edge on every alt row as foll:

Cast off 6 (6: 7: 7: 7) sts at the beg of next and foll 2 (0: 2: 1: 1) alt rows. Work 1 row.

Cast off 0 (7: 0: 8: 8) sts at the beg of next and foll 0 (1: 0: 0: 0) alt rows.***

With RS facing pick up sts held on spare needle and work from

SLEEVES

Cast on 38 (42: 42: 46: 46) sts using 5mm needles and Yarn A. Rib row *K2, P2; rep until last 2 sts, K2.

Cont as set for 6cm (16 rows), inc 1 (0: 1: 0: 1) and dec 0 (1: 0: 1: 0) on the final row. [39 (41: 43: 45: 47) sts]

Change to 5.5mm needles and beg with knit row, work in st st for 2 rows.

Change to 6mm needles and work rows 1-5 of Chart, starting at stitch 6 (5: 4: 3: 2). After st 36 rep from st 1.

Change to 5.5 mm needles and Yarn A and cont in st st.

SLEEVE SHAPING AND CHANGE OF STITCH

Cont until work measures 11cm.

Next row (RS inc) K2, M1, knit to last 2 sts, M1, K2.

Read ahead, shaping and stitch change happen at the same time. Rep inc row on every foll 10th (10th: 10th: 8th: 8th) row 7 (7: 3: 5: 2) times, then on every foll 0 (0: 8th: 6th: 6th) row 0 (0: 5: 5: 9) times. 55 (57: 61: 67: 71) sts

AT THE SAME TIME, when work measures 37cm change to 6mm needles and cont to work Chart from row 6 starting with st 30 (29: 28: 27: 26).

TOP OF SLEEVE AND CHANGE OF STITCH

Read ahead, shaping and stitch change happen at the same time. Cont until work measures 46cm, then shape the top of Sleeve as foll: Cast off 3 sts at the beg of next 0 (0: 2: 2: 2) rows.

Cast off 2 sts at the beg of next 4 (4: 2: 2: 4) rows.

Cast off 1 st at the beg of next 24 (26: 26: 26: 26) rows. Cast off 2 sts at the beg of next 4 (4: 2: 2: 2) rows.

Cast off 3 sts at the beg of next 0 (0: 2: 4: 4) rows.

Cast off the rem 15 sts.

AT THE SAME TIME after the last row of the Chart, change to 5.5 mm needles and cont in st st using Yarn A.

NECKBAND

102 (106: 110: 114: 118) sts using 5mm needles and Yarn A . Work in K2, P2 rib for 20cm then leave on a spare needle.

MAKING UP

Join shoulder seams. Using backstitch, graft the neckband around the neck edge (see Grafting a Border tips at www.bergeredef­rance. com/advices). Then join the collar seam, joining the top 10cm on the RS to allow for turning down. Sew the top of the sleeves into the armholes. Sew the sleeve and side seams. Secure and weave in all ends.
