Row 2 (WS) Using Yarn B or D, purl.

Repeat for second Sleeve, using stripe pattern order for Sleeve 2.

MAKING UP

Block work according to ball band and measuremen­ts given. Sew all raglan edges together. Sew Sleeve and side seams, noting that back is 5cm longer than the Fronts, so the Back rib will be left ‘floating’.

BUTTONBAND

With RS facing, using Yarn A and 3.25mm needles, pick up 13 sts from left front stitch holder and work as follows:

Row 1 (RS) Kfb, P1, *K2, P2; rep from * to last 3 sts, K3. [14 sts]

Row 2 (WS) Sl1, *P2, K2; rep from * to last st, P1.

Row 3 K1, *P2, K2; rep from * to last st, K1.

Rows 2 and 3 set the pattern for the left front band. Continue to work these rows until the band fits around front edge, across top of Sleeves and half way across back of neck.

Cast off.

BUTTONHOLE BAND

With WS facing, using Yarn A and 3.25mm needles, pick up 13 sts from right front stitch holder and work as follows:

Set up row (WS) Kfb, K1, *P2, K2; rep from * to last 3 sts, P3. [14 sts]

Row 1 (RS, buttonhole row) Sl1, K2, P1, k2tog, (yo) twice, ssk, P1, K2, P2, K1.

Row 2 (WS) P1, K2, P2, K1, P1, (K1, P1) into loop, P1, K1, P3. Row 3 Sl1, *K2, P2; rep from * to last st, K1.

Row 4 P1, *K2, P2; rep from * to last st, P1.

Rep Rows 3 and 4 another 7 (7: 7: 7: 6: 6: 5: 5) times.

The previous 18 (18: 18: 18: 16: 16: 14: 14) rows set the pattern and buttonhole­s for the lower right front band. Work these rows another 3 times, then work Rows 1 and 2 once more.

Next, continue in rib as set by Rows 3 and 4 until the band fits around front edge, across top of Sleeves and half way across back of neck.

Cast off.

Join front bands at back of neck and stitch into place around front edges, across top of Sleeves and halfway across back of neck. Attach buttons to left front band matching placement of buttonhole­s.

POCKET TOPS

Using 3.25mm needles and Yarn A, place stitches from holder onto needles and work 6 rows in rib to match lower border or continue in rib until desired depth of pocket is reached. Cast off in pattern. Pin pocket liners onto inside of each front and slip stitch in place. Stitch sides of pocket top into place on fronts.
