TRIANGULAR SHAWL

If you are new to knitting or simply looking for a very easy project, we’ve a series of patterns especially for you. This triangular shawl is as easy as ABC. It is worked in garter stitch and has two plaited ties. Tie your shawl any way you like. The shawl is knitted in a chunky wool-blend yar 04

146 x 80 cm

Material:

Rico Essentials Mega Wool chunky. Content: 55 % wool,

45 % polyacryli­c.

100 g = 125 m.

7 balls – col 006 mustard

Knitting needles:

Circular needle size 12 mm (80 cm)

Tension:

9 sts and 16 rows to 10 cm over garter stitch on 12 mm needles, using 2 ends of yarn held together, or the size required to give the correct tension.

Using 12 mm needles, thumb method and 2 strands of yarn held together cast on 3 sts. Using yarn double (throughout) proceed as follows:

1st row. K1, (inc in next st) 2x. 5 sts.

2nd row. K4, s1p with yfrt.

3rd row. K1, inc in next st, knit to last 2 sts, inc in next st, s1p with yfrt. 7 sts.

4th row. Knit to last st, s1p with yfrt. Last 2 rows set g-st (garter stitch) with increases. Cont in g-st inc as before in next and every foll alt row to 131 sts. Cast off knitways.

Finishing

Using 18 strands of yarn of approximat­ely 150 cm, in length for each plait, divided in to 3 sections (6 strands in each section), plait together strands, tying a knot at end of each plait to secure. Sew one plait to each corner of shawl as shown in the photograph. Cover with clean, damp cloths and leave until dry.
