Rico Essentials Alpaca Twist Chunky.

Content: 50 % alpaca wool, 35 % polyacrylic, 15 % wool. 50 g = 65 m.

9 balls – col 011 mauve

Knitting needles:

Size 6 mm

Circular needle size 6 mm (80 cm) Stitch markers

Tension:

14 sts and 19 rows to 10 cm, over stocking stitch on 6 mm needles.

It is essential to work to the stated tension to achieve the correct size of garment.

Please note

When sts become too numerous change to a circular needle if required.

Using 6 mm needles and thumb method cast on 3 sts.

1st row. S1, knit to end.

This row sets g-st (garter stitch). Work 1 row more in g-st. Proceed as follows:

1st row. S1, (m1p, k1) twice. 5 sts.

2nd row. S1, (p1, k1) twice.

3rd row. S1, m1, p1, k1, p1, m1, k1. 7 sts.

4th row. S1, m1p, (k1, p1) twice, k1, m1p, k1. 9 sts.

5th row. S1, m1, *p1, k1, rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, m1, k1. 11 sts.

6th row. S1, *k1, p1, rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.

7th row. S1, m1p, *k1, p1, rep from * to last 2 sts, k1, m1p, k1. 13 sts.

8th row. S1, m1, *p1, k1, rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, m1, k1. 15 sts.

9th row. S1, m1p, *k1, p1, rep from * to last 2 sts, k1, m1p, k1. 17 sts.

Place a stitch marker at either side of centre 27 sts.

20th row. S1, m1p, p1, sm, (p1, k1) 13 times, p1, sm, p1, m1p, k1. 33 sts.

21st row. S1, m1, k2, sm, (p1, k1) 13 times, p1, sm, k2, m1, k1. 35 sts. 22nd row. S1, p3, sm, (p1, k1) 13 times, p1, sm, p3, k1.

From 19th to 22nd row sets patt and increases with sts at either side of stitch markers worked in stocking stitch.

Keeping continuity of patt as set (throughout) inc 1 st at each end as before to 255 sts, working inc sts in stocking stitch and ending with a ws row.

Work 3 rows in g-st.

Cast off knitways.

Finishing

Cover with damp cloths and leave until dry.
