MAKING UP TOP AND BOTTOM

Placing the side edges of the sections knitted in Yarn A together, sew four squares together along these side seams to make a large square using either overstitch or ladder stitch. Repeat with another four squares. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmD9vpo5Fso

SCISSOR POCKET

Sew the remaining three squares together along the same side edges. Sew the side edges of the triangle to the three squares to make a large square with one corner missing.

JOIN TOGETHER

Place the pocket section on top of one of the larger squares so that the right side of both the pocket and the square below it are facing upwards.

Place these two sections together with the remaining larger square, right sides together.

Sew all three layers together using overstitch or ladder stitch, leaving the section that only has two layers open.

Use the unsewn section to turn the work to the right side. Stuff the pin cushion firmly through the open section. Ladder stitch the edges of the open section together. Neaten all ends.

"I am constantly misplacing needles, pins and scissors, so wanted a bright pin cushion that would be hard to lose! I added the scissor pocket to keep everything together."
