Materials:

Lana Grossa, Alta Moda Alpaca. Content: 90 % baby alpaca,

5 % pure new wool (merino),

5 % polyamide.

50 g = 140 m.

2 (3) (3) 4 balls – col 10 mocha mottled

1 (1) 1 (1) ball – col 14 raw white 1 (1) 1 (1) ball – col 44 lilac mottled

Knitting needles:

Size 4½ mm

Circular needle size 4½ mm (40 cm)

Tension:

17.5 sts and 30 rs/rnds in stocking stitch on needle size 4½ mm = 10 x 10 cm.

If only one figure is stated, that figure applies to all sizes.

Rib: k1, p1 to end.

Stocking stitch: Knit on RS, purl on WS, knit in every rnd.

Jacquard pattern A, stitch count divisible by 4: Work in stocking stitch. Follow chart A.

Every round is shown in the chart. Work rnds 1 – 5 once.

Jacquard pattern B, stitch count divisible by 2: Work in stocking stitch. Follow chart B.

Every round is shown in the chart. Work rnds 1 – 3 once.

Pattern sequence: 7 rnds using mocha mottled, 5 rnds in Jacquard pattern A, 4 rnds in stocking stitch using mocha mottled, 3 rnds in Jacquard pattern B, 2 rnds in stocking stitch using mocha mottled = 21 rnds.

Decreasing: At the right-hand side of the work: 1 edge stitch, sl1, k1, psso (= slip 1 stitch, k1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch). At the left-hand side of the work: k2tog and then 1 edge stitch.

Front and back worked together on a circular needle up to the underarm

Using circular needle size 4½ mm and mocha mottled yarn, cast on 80 (88) 94 (102) sts. Work 2.5 cm rib. Set a stitch marker (sm) at each side seam = 40 (44) 47 (51) sts each on front and back.

Continue working stocking stitch in the rnd (k all sts). When the work measures 17.5 (18.5) 20 (21.5) cm, divide at side seams for armhole.

Front

Dec 1 on both sides of the armhole in alternate rows, 4 (5) 6 (7) times = 32 (34) 35 (37) sts. Continue without further dec until the work measures 20 (22) 24 (26) cm. Slide rem sts onto a stitch holder.

Work the back in the same way.
