Inner sleeve length: 15 cm

Materials: ggh Reva.

Content: 95 % recycled cotton, 5 % other fibers.

50 g = 155 m.

3 balls – col 8 olive

2 balls – col 14 beige

Knitting needles:

Circular needles size 3 mm (40 cm) Circular needle size 3 mm (40 and 60 cm)

Double pointed needles (dpns) size 4 mm

Tension:

With needles size 3 mm in st st: 20 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Rib pattern: Alternate between k2, p2.

Stockinett­e stitch (st st): k RS rows, p WS rows.

Knit the stripes as follows: Alt between 3 rows beige and 3 rows olive.

Decreases: At beg of row: Selvedge st, k1, sl1, k1, psso. At end of row: Knit within the last 4 sts, k2tog, k1, selvedge st.

Note: The bolero is knitted sideways from sleeve to sleeve.

SLEEVES

Cast on 54 sts in olive with needles size 3 mm and knit rib patt. Start and end the following WS row with P2 sts.

After 11 rows change to 3 mm and continue to work st st.

On the 1st row knit with 2 threads. On the following row only work with 1 thread and knit all single sts across. This doubles the stitch no = 108 sts.

After 6 rows olive start stripe pattern.

After 11 cm inc 1 sts at both sides by picking up the strand beside the selvedge st and knit through the loop.

Rep inc another 5 times on every 2nd row = 120 sts.

After the last inc cast on 30 new sts on both sides = 180 sts.

Change to longer needles. Those 30 sts are the side seams and will be sewn together with Kitchener stitch.

FRONT AND BACK

Work 17 cm stripe pattern across 180 sts.

On a RS row and on a 3 rd row with olive or beige cast off 90 sts as follows:

Cast off 8 sts knitwise, for the folds, work 14 times as follows: *k3tog (= sl1, k2tog, psso) and k1* and cast off at the same time = cast off 64 sts.

Cast off another 26 sts knitwise.

BACK

Continue across the rem 90 sts in stripe pattern:

For the back neckline on the side facing the BO sts dec 1 st 5 times as described = 85 sts.

After 25 cm measured from the side seam BO all sts on a 1st row in olive or beige.

Knit second part the same way, but mirrorwise.

FINISHING

Block pieces to measuremen­t, cover with a damp cloth and let dry. Close the back middle seam, the side seams, and the underarm seam with Kitchener stitch. Attach a string all around.

String: With needles size 4 mm and 2 threads in olive cast on 4 sts and knit across.

*Push st back to the right end of the needle, pull tight and knit sts again*.

Continue from * to * until the string covers the front edge and the back neckline.

Cast off all sts and sew string on. Work another string like described above and sew around the hem, to both sides of the front pieces leave 20 cm over to tie together.
