Tension:

17 stitches and 24 rows in stockinett­e stitch = 10 cm.

21 stitches and 24 rows in rib pattern = 10 cm.

Stockinett­e stitch: RS: k, WS: p.

Mock cable (MC) consisting of 3 k sts: Lift the 3rd st on the left needle over the 2 sts next to it to the right, k1, yarn over, k1.

Note:

The even rows in the chart represents the RS, the odd rows represents the WS. On the WS, knit sts as they appear.

Pattern repeat:

Is worked over 5 sts and 4 rows.

BACK

21 (22) 23 repeats + 2 sts + 2 edge stitches

Cast on 109 (114) 119 sts using 5mm needles and work 21 rows in ribbing (also see chart).

Row 1 (WS): 1 edge st, K2, *P3, K2*, repeat from * to * 20 (21) 22 more times, 1 edge st.

Row 2 (RS): 1 edge st, P2, * 1 MC, P2 *, repeat from * to * 20 (21) 22 more times, 1 edge st.

Row 4: 1 edge st, P2, *K3, P2 *, repeat from * to * 20 (21) 22 more times, 1 edge st.

Row 6: 1 edge st, P2, * 1 MC, P2 *, repeat from * to * 20 (21) 22 more times, 1 edge st.

Continue like this, repeating the pattern, for a total of 21 rows.

Row 22: 1 edge st, K2, 1 MC, omitting the yarn over, (thus the number of sts is decreased by 1 per repeat), * K2, 1 MC, omitting the yarn over, repeat from * to * to the last 3 sts, K2, 1 edge st = 88 (92) 96 sts.

Row 23: P.

Row 24: K.

Continue in stockinett­e st. Work shoulders: In row 120 (122) 124 cast off 6 (8) 10 sts for the shoulders at beginning of row on each side, then 5x 4 sts in every second row.

In row 124 (126) 128 cast off center 24 sts (for all sizes) for the neckline, then work shoulders separately, casting off 2x 3 sts every 2nd row at neckline, a total of 6 sts each side (for all sizes).

Width of shoulders: 26 (28) 30 sts.

Front (2 rows shorter than back) 21 (22) 23 repeats + 2 sts + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 109 (114) 119 sts 5mm needle and work as back. At a total length of 108 (110) 112 rows cast of the center 14 (14) 14 sts for the neckline and then 1x 3, 3x 2 and 2x 1 st in every 2nd row.

Work shoulders: In row 118 (120) 122 cast off 6 (8) 10 sts and then 5x 4 sts in every 2nd row.

Width of shoulders: 26 (28) 30 sts.

SLEEVES (WORK 2 X)

11 (11) 12 repeats + 2 sts + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 59 (59) 64 sts using 5mm needlesand work 21 rows as for back and front.

In row 22 k all sts and MC, omitting the yarn over just like for back = 48 (48) 52 sts.

Continue in stockinett­e st. Starting in row 30 (18) 18 increase 1 st at each side and another, 6 (8) 8x 1 st in every 6th row on both sides = 62 (66) 70 sts.

Shaping sleeve cap: At a total length of 70 (72) 74 rows cast off 6 (8) 10 sts at beg of row each side and then in every 2nd row on both sides another 4x 4 sts.

Bind off the remaining sts.

FINISHING

Dampen and block all pieces. Neckband consists of 2 separate pieces.

Neck band back (9 repeats + 2 sts + 2 edge sts): With ndl size 5 mm pick up 49 sts along back neckline and work in ribbing (see chart) for 10 rows, continue with ndl size 4 mm. Bind off all sts in row 14.

Neck band front (12 repeats + 2 sts + 2 edge sts): With ndl size 5 mm pick up 64 sts along front neckline and work in ribbing (see chart) for 10 rows, continue with n 4 mm needles.

Cast off all sts in row 14.

Close side, shoulder and neckband seams. Close sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
