NECK EDGING

Next row Work across 5 rem sts, inc 1 st at inner edge. [6 sts]** Work straight in st st on these 6 sts until edging is long enough to fit across cast-off sts of back neck to top of right shoulder.

Cast off.

With RS facing, neatly rejoin yarn to rem sts at neck edge.

Next row K5, work in patt to end.

Next row Work in patt to last 5 sts, P5.

Change to 4mm needles and set patt:

Row 1 (RS) K11 (12: 13: 15: 16: 17), P4, K3, P4, K10, P4, K3, P4, K11 (12: 13: 15: 16: 17).

Row 2 P11 (12: 13: 15: 16: 17), K4, P3, K4, P10, K4, P3, K4, P to end. Row 3 K11 (12: 13: 15: 16: 17), P4, TW3, P4, K10, P4, TW3, P4, K to end. Row 4 As Row 2.

These 4 rows set the basic patt.

Cont in basic patt working C10B over central 10 knit sts on foll 11th row and then on every foll 16th row to match Back and Front. AT

THE SAME TIME inc 1 st at each end of next row, then on every foll 8th (6th: 6th: 6th: 4th: 4th) row until there are 60 (66: 84: 88: 70: 84) sts, then on every foll 8th (8th: 8th: 8th: 6th: 6th) row until there are 80 (86: 92: 96: 102: 108) sts.

Work straight until Sleeve measures 44 (46: 47: 47: 48: 48)cm, ending after a WS row.

Cast off loosely.

MAKING UP

Omitting ribbing, press work very lightly on WS following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band. Join shoulders. Stitch inner edge of back neck edging joining short end to final 6 sts of border at right shoulder. Stitch cast-off edges of Sleeves to upper side edges of Back and Front. Join side and Sleeve seams. Press seams.
