Content: 80 % merino wool,

20 % silk. 25 g = 150 m.

8 (9) 10 balls – col 1 off white 12 (13) 14 balls – col 6 apple green 3 (3) 4) balls – col 9 green-grey

Knitting needles: Size 3 and 4 mm

Tension:

With needles size 4 mm in st st: 24 sts and 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Stockinett­e stitch (st st): k on RS rows, p on WS rows.

Reverse stockinett­e stitch (rev st st): P on RS rows, K on WS rows.

Stripe pattern: 28 rows apple green, 3x * 4 rows green-grey and 4 rows off white *, 4 rows green-grey, 16 rows off white.

LEFT FRONT

Cast on 74 (79) 84 sts with needles size 3 mm in apple green and k 9 rows. Start on a WS row. Then change to 4mm needle and continue to work st st.

Start working the stripe pattern 4x. Finish the jacket in apple green. To shape the sides, ktog the 3rd and 4th st at the beg of the row 20x on every 12th row = 54 (59) 64 sts.

After 76 cm cast off 12 sts for the armhole and at the same time start shaping the neckline on the edge facing the middle front. For the armhole ktog the 3rd and 4th st at the beg of row 8x on every 2nd row = 34 (39) 44 sts.

To shape the neckline ktog the 4th and 3rd last st 10x on every 4th row = 24 (29) 34 sts. After 23 (25) 27 cm armhole height cast off the remaining 24 (29) 34 shoulder sts.

RIGHT FRONT

Work as left front but mirror wise.

BACK

The back is 1 cm shorter than the 2 front parts.

Cast on 170 (180) 190 sts with needles 3 mm in apple green and start the back same as the front. Work side slant at both edges = 130 (140) 150 sts. Work the armhole as for the front = 90 (100) 110) sts.

To shape the shoulders cast off at both sides on every 2nd row 8x 3 sts (3x 3 sts and 5x 4 sts) 6x 4 sts and 2x 5 sts) = 42 sts.

SLEEVES

Cast on 54 (58) 62 sts using 3 mm needles and start on the sleeves same as you start the back. After the cuff work 10 rows in apple green then start on the stripe pattern. To shape the sides inc 1 st each side 16x on every 8th row (7x on every 8th row and 12x on every 6th row) 20x on every 6th row and 2x on every 4th row.

Make the increases after the 3rd and before the 4th last st = 86 (96) 106 sts.

After 48 cm begin shaping the armholes.

Make sure the colours of the stripe pattern match the front part. At both sides BO 12 sts = 62 (72) 82 sts. Then ktog the 3rd and 4th st and the 4th and 3rd last st 2x on every 2nd row, 6x on every 4th row and 7x on every 2nd row = 32 (42) 52 sts. On the following row cast off all sts.

BORDER WITH ROLL-EDGE Cast on 25 sts using 3 mm needle and apple green.

Start on a WS row and K1 row. Then work st 1-9 in reverse st st and k st 10-25 for 8 more rows. Then work st 10-25 in st st.

Note: K st 10-25 the last 9 rows before cast off. 1st of these rows is a WS row. K and cast off all sts on next RS row.

The border is worked lengthwise and sewn around the front closing edge and the back neckline. Keep checking the actual length of your work.

Then cast off all sts. The edge made in st st will be sewn onto the front edge of cardigan.
