SLIPPERS (MAKE 2)

Cast on 21 sts using 6mm needles.

Row 1 (RS) K7, (kfb) 3 times, K1, (kfb) 3 times, K7. [27 sts] Row 2 Purl.

Row 3 K2, C4B, K15, C4B, K2.

Row 4 Purl.

Row 5 Knit.

Row 6 Purl.

Repeat Rows 3 to 6 until work measures 14cm, ending on a Row 6. Next row Kfb, K1, C4B, K15, C4B, kfb, K1. [29 sts]

Next row Purl.

Next row Cast on 11 sts, knit to the end of the row. [40 sts] Transfer the sts onto DPNs, or circular needle if preferred, and begin to work in rounds.

PM to mark the beginning of the round.

TOE

Round 1 Knit.

Round 2 C4B, K3, C4B, K3, C4B, K15, C4B, K3.

Rounds 3 to 5 Knit.

Repeat Rounds 2 to 5 until work measures 21cm or 4cm less than desired foot length, ending on a Round 2.

Next round Knit

Next round (K4, k2tog) twice, (K6, k2tog) twice, K5, k2tog. [30 sts] Next round C4B, K1, C4B, K1, C4B, K11, C4B, K1.

Next round *K4, k2tog; rep from * to the end of the round. [25 sts] Next round Knit.

Next round *K3, k2tog; rep * to the end of the round. [20 sts] Next round *K2tog; rep from * to the end of the round. [10sts]

B&T.

RIB CUFF

With RS facing and using 5.5mm circular needle, beginning at the back of the heel, pick up and knit 21 sts along the sock edge, pick up and knit 3 sts from the ‘corner’ sts (increase rows), knit 11 sts across the front, pick up and knit 3 sts from the second corner (increase rows), pick up and knit 21 sts along the straight edge. [59 sts]

Next row P1, (K1, P1) 10 times, (k2tog, p2tog) twice, K1, (p2tog, k2tog) twice, (P1, K1) to last st, P1. [51 sts]

Next row K1, *P1, K1; rep from * to the end of the row.

Next row P1, *K1, P1; rep from * to the end of the row. Cast off in rib.

MAKING UP

Fold the slipper in half and join the heel sts using mattress stitch. Neaten all the ends. Block gently to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.
