INCREASE TIP 1 (EVENLY SPACED)

To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of sts on the needle and divide by the number of increases to be made, e.g. 82 sts divided by 4 increases = 20.5.

In this example, increase by making 1 yo after alternately each 20th and 21st stitch. On the next round knit the yos through the back loop to avoid holes.

INCREASE TIP 2 (FOR SIDES OF BODY)

Work until there are 2 stitches left before the marker thread, yo, K4 (marker thread sits between these 4 stitches), yo. [2 sts inc’d at each marker thread; 4 sts inc’d on round].

On the next round knit the yos through the back loop to avoid holes, then work the new sts in st st.

DECREASE TIP (FOR SLEEVES)

Dec 1 st on each side of the marker thread as foll: Work until there are 3 stsleft before the marker thread, k2tog, K2 (marker thread sits between these 2 sts), skpo. [2 sts dec’d]
