Wonderful Wonderwool!

-

After an enforced hiatus of two years,WonderwoolWales festival at the RoyalWelsh Showground came back bigger than ever before

More than 5,000 people flocked to Wonderwool Wales during the weekend of 23rd and 24th April 2022. The main comment from exhibitors and visitors alike was: “It’s great to be back!” It had been a long and uncertain two years while the pandemic rumbled on, but last spring the two-day show that celebrates all that’s great about Welsh wool and natural fibres made a triumphant return to the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. More than 190 exhibitors packed three halls, with many selling out of their goods, which ranged from handdyed yarns and fibres to equipment and other goodies.

GROWING SUCCESS

Developed to promote the market for Welsh wool, Wonderwool Wales first took place in 2006 and has grown in size and popularity since then, with plenty to see, shop and do, including their Woolschools which run right across the weekend, and the Sheepwalk fashion shows, where exhibitors show off their wonderful creations. One very special event this year was an exhibition called ‘Alice in Wonderwool’, postponed from 2020 and featuring favourite characters from the much-loved tale, crafted from fibres and felt. And with exciting plans already in the pipeline for Wonderwool 2023, we can’t wait to see what happens!

Wonderwool Wales will take place on 22-23 April 2023 at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells. For tickets and info visit www.wonderwoolwales. co.uk or follow them on social media.
