360 Degrees

of Separation

Traditional camera makers such as Nikon have begun their push into the market alongside tech giants like Samsung and LG. As a result, there’s no shortage of devices to choose from, plenty of which come designed around smartphone interactivity.

Newer companies are also making waves in the industry, with unique products and strong features that challenge these established manufacturers.

One of these companies is 360fly.

The 360fly HD camera, launched last year, is water resistant, dustproof and shockproof, and features 32GB of internal memory, enough for two hours of 360-degree footage. Potentially replacing traditional action cameras from companies like GoPro and Sony, the 360fly HD packs a lot of features into a 61mm sphere weighing 142 grams.

Like other popular action cameras, 360fly also offers a slew of accessories, ranging from a virtual reality headset for viewing your 360 videos to dive housing to protect the camera at depths of up to 60 metres.

As the demand for 4K TVs soars higher than ever, 360fly have also launched a new 4K model. The 360fly 4K, released earlier this year, can shoot up to two hours of 360-degree 4K footage to the 64GB internal memory. The 360fly 4K camera adds an Autopilot Action Tracker, self-editing to reduce long videos down to highlight reels, and it can even act a second camera with the 16:9 POV mode.

“Based off feedback from current 360fly users and 360fly brand ambassadors, the 360fly 4K camera represents the next evolution of features, like 4K video and live streaming,” 360fly CEO Peter Adderton said.

The company is even offering a trade-in program for your old action cameras, offering up to $200 credit towards a new 360fly 4K camera. 360fly separates itself from other brands by paying close attention to the feedback of its customers, and delivering additional features and improvements to their 360-degree cameras.

“As more and more people adopt 360 degree cameras, 360fly continuously strives to surprise and delight its users with enhancements that allow just about anybody to take high-quality, 360-degree video, capturing just about any event in a way that is unique and highly immersive,” said Nick Segger, Marketing Manager at 360fly’s Australian distributor RIISE.

As for smartphone connectivity, the camera is compatible with more than just a few models. Most Android smartphones with a 4K display can be used as a viewfinder and controller for the 360fly cameras, with most iOS devices released since 2013 also being fully compatible with the app.
