The S9’s Infinity Display Is Now More Beautiful
First debuting on the Galaxy S8, Samsung has made its famous edge-to-edge ‘Infinity Display’ even more aesthetically beautiful on the S9/S9+.
Known for developing their own display technology, Samsung’s OLED smartphone screens remain the industry leader - now used in many other brands’ flagship devices, including Apple’s iPhone X.
Despite looking remarkably similar to its predecessor, the South Korean giant proves incremental evolution is key to technological innovation, with most of its display improvements found ‘under the hood’.
Introducing ‘Adaptive Contrast Enhancement’, the Galaxy S9’s screen provides striking visuals even in direct sunlight alleviating a common frustration of many consumers.
Both the 5.8” Galaxy S9 and 6.2” Galaxy S9+ feature Samsung’s latest Super AMOLED screens, which compliments a 18.5:9 High Dynamic Range (HDR) capable display for impressive video viewing.
Banishing side bezels, the S9 retains an ergonomic grip, and allows the phone’s ‘Infinity Display’ to stylishly flow onto its sides.
To make the device even more sleek, Samsung has turned the screen a deeper shade of black, to better blend in with top and bottom bezels, when turned off – an astounding attention to detail.
Screen and body durability has also been improved, courtesy of a high-strength aluminium alloy body, and a thicker Corning© Gorilla© Glass 5 front.
The S9’s side metal frames have also been enhanced for better scratch-resistance.
The Galaxy S9 introduces a new ‘Landscape Mode’, which adjusts the home screen and app tray’s orientation, for better app accessibility while watching videos.
‘Edge lighting’ for incoming notifications is also now complimented by an instant launch ‘Multi-Window’ – where users can view and reply to messages without needing to exit their current app.
With its new Galaxy S9/S9+ Samsung further cements its place as a leader in smartphone display technology, demonstrating acute attention to detail and fine-tuned innovation.
