CES 2018: D-LINK UNVEILS UPGRADED HOME ECOSYSTEM, COVR WI-FI SOLUTIONS AND MCAFEE ROUTER
D-Link is showcasing a number of new products at the Las Vegas based CES including the mydlink Connected Home Ecosystem, more Google Assistant compatible products, next generation Covr whole home Wi-Fi Solutions and the new DIR-X6060 and DIR-X9000 11AX Ultra Wi-Fi routers.
The mydlink Connected Home Ecosystem consolidates non-router mydlink devices under one single app, which D-Link says increasing smart automation possibilities and enabling rich features such as cloud recording and IVA. Products in this range include the CES 2018 Innovation Awards honouree DSC-1920LM 4G/LTE outdoor camera, new smart cameras, smart plugs and water sensors.
Its One-Tap feature allows consumers to easily control multiple devices and bundle multiple actions into scenarios. BLE makes setup simple and quick, and 3rd party compatibility with Amazon Alexa, the Google Assistant, and IFTTT means that mydlink meets the needs of every smart homeowner, without locking them into any one ecosystem.
According to the company, the mydlink DCS-8000LH HD Mini Wi-Fi Camera, DCS-8100LH HD Wi-Fi Camera, DSP-W115 Wi-Fi Smart Plug, and DSP-W245 mydlink Wi-Fi Power Strip will now work with the Google Assistant by the end of the month. Users can ask the Google Assistant to show their camera’s live view on a television or display when connected to a Google Chromecast device. The mydlink Wi-Fi Smart Plug and Wi-Fi Power Strip can also be turned on and off with the Google Assistant.

“We plan to continue expanding the range of Google Assistantcompatible products to provide more home automation possibilities for smart homes.”
D-Link also announced two new products in its next generation Covr whole home Wi-Fi solutions powered by the Qualcomm Mesh Networking Platform, the the AC2200 Tri-Band WiFi System (COVR-2202) and AC1200 Dual-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System (COVR-C1203).
D-Link claims these new products can provide connectivity needed to support many connected devices throughout a smart home and are dead spot free.
The product feature MU-MIMO technology for higher and more efficient throughput, the company says the AC1200 Dual-Band Covr Points in COVR-C1203 virtually eliminate annoying Wi-Fi deadspots, and create a zone of dedicated high-speed, seamless Wi-Fi for homes up to 1500 metres square.
The COVR-2202 is aimed at customers who need a larger and more powerful Wi-Fi network. The system comprises two high-performance AC2200 TriBand Covr Points (two 5 GHz bands and one 2.4 GHz with Wi-Fi speeds of up to 866 Mbps and 400 Mbps respectively) that virtually eliminate WiFi dead spots and provide fast Wi-Fi to homes of up to 550 metres square.

D-Link has partnered with McAfee releasing the new AC2600 router an all-in-one solution increasing security for devices on the home network. This features D-Link’s dual band 802.11ac router with MU-MIMO technology, McAfee Secure Home Platform that automatically protects all
devices connected to the network, and the Intel Home Wi-Fi Chipset WAV500 Series to deliver robust Wi-Fi connectivity to numerous connected devices at the same time, running a range of high-bandwidth applications.
McAfee’s Global Threat Intelligence features adaptable machine learning that protects by preventing, detecting, and correcting malicious malware and attacks, which enables a safer internet browsing experience for consumers. The DIR-2680 is easily set up with the D-Link Wi-Fi app and can be managed from anywhere with the McAfee Secure Home Platform app.

D-Link has released its new DIR-X6060 and DIR-X9000 11AX Ultra Wi-Fi Routers which it says offer premium performance for multiple devices in dense environments. The DIR-X6060 is a dual band router with combined speeds up to 6000 Mbps, and the DIR-X9000 is a tri band router with combined speeds up to 11,000 Mbps.
The ultra Wi-Fi routers feature improved coverage and 4x more capacity over 11AC with a 1.8GHz quad-core processor. 4×4 MU-MIMO allows more users to perform even more data intensive tasks on more devices with less network congestion. With BSS Colouring and OFDMA, the routers deliver more efficient networking for extreme home networks, especially in device-dense environments. The routers can be set up and managed with the D-Link Wi-Fi app.
