Challenges Premium OLED TV Makers With Cheap Bild 3, 65-Inch Model

- Written by DAVID RICHARDS

Loewe have thrown a spanner into the top end of the TV market with a German made 3.65 4K Ultra HD OLED TV with Dolby vision, HLG, and HDR for only $6,999.

One of the original players in the premium TV market in Australia Loewe is making a concerted effort to recapture market share in Australia with a range of TV’s that seriously challenge LG, Panasonic and Sony in the TV OLED market their latest offering is only $599 more expensive than a similar LG offering.

ChannelNews TV editor Steve May who is based in Europe has described the new 65″ Loewe as a “seriously good premium TV”. Read May’s review on page 78.

He said that Loewe was one of the first TV brands to elevate the design of the humble television into something that approached art.

Under the guidance of creative director Bodo Sperlein, it brought a sense of minimalist refinement to its flat screens; it wanted them to look as good off as on.

With the Bild 3.65, it’s clear the German brand hasn’t run out of ideas. Despite the fact that this is ostensibly a Loewe ‘budget’ offering, it has embellishments that will delight those looking for

class above cost-savings.

The Loewe Bild 3 line-up actually consists of both LED LCD as well as OLED models.

The new TV sits on a pedestal stand and features a distinct circular LED status indicator.

May claims that the Loewe Ultra HD OLED offering TV clearly exceeds the Premium certification specifications of the HDR Alliance.

He said in a review of the TV that “A forward facing speaker array (we hesitate to call it a soundbar) is finished in an acoustically neutral charcoal fabric”.
