Vo­gel’s comes out on top in pre­mium mount mar­ket

TV and sound­bar wall mounts are gen­er­at­ing prof­its for distrib­u­tors such as Canohm with their Vo­gel’s brand com­ing out on top in the pre­mium mount mar­ket.

A re­cent re­port by In­dex Mar­ket Re­search pre­dicts dou­ble digit growth for the cat­e­gory in 2019 as TVs get thin­ner and lighter and eas­ier to mount on walls.

Brands such as Vo­gel’s, Level­mount, Om­niMount, At­dec, Premier Mounts are set to grow at the ex­pense of cheap house brand mounts bought in by re­tail­ers.

Last year mounts spe­cial­ist Vo­gel’s took a ma­jor­ity in­ter­est in SmartMe­tals Mount­ing So­lu­tions, strength­en­ing its po­si­tion in the B2B mar­ket and ex­pand­ing its range of dis­play mount­ing sys­tems in Aus­tralia into com­mer­cial mar­kets such as in re­tail dis­play, ed­u­ca­tion mar­kets and in com­mer­cial mar­kets. SmartMe­tals of­fers mounts for pro­jec­tors, flat screens and white­boards and Vo­gel’s hopes is that the move will bol­ster its po­si­tion as a spe­cial­ist AV prod­uct so­lu­tions provider and in the pro­fes­sional mar­ket.

Af­ter con­sent of the ma­jor­ity in­ter­est by Vo­gel’s, SmartMe­tals Mount­ing So­lu­tions will con­tinue to ex­ist as an in­de­pen­dent en­tity with Vo­gel’s not­ing that the two com­pany’s prod­uct lines are largely com­ple­men­tary to each other.

Gerdi Vo­gels, CEO of Vo­gel’s said: “I am very pleased with this ex­pan­sion for the Vo­gel’s group. This ma­jor­ity in­ter­est in SmartMe­tals of­fers a stronger mar­ket po­si­tion in the grow­ing Pro­fes­sional mar­ket. This com­bi­na­tion will en­able us to im­prove our mar­ket po­si­tion and strengthen our dis­tri­bu­tion with both brands. With this ac­qui­si­tion, we are spread­ing our wings. It is go­ing to of­fer new op­por­tu­ni­ties and pos­si­bil­i­ties in the B2B sec­tor.”

Vin­cent Rekveldt, CEO and coowner of SmartMe­tals Mount­ing So­lu­tions added: “Since 2004, we have de­vel­oped our­selves as a brand into a spe­cial­ist in, among other things, tai­lor-made so­lu­tions for pro­fes­sional ap­pli­ca­tions. We are also a leader in lift sys­tems”.
