Lenovo launch products for the connected future

-

A new era of digital computing is on its way, according to Lenovo, who unveiled a plethora of new products at CES 2020 – from foldables, to 5G computers, to gaming desktops and smart home devices.

Lenovo is setting the standard for the connected home revolution, which will see foldable devices become the norm, 5G networking everywhere, smart home devices in every corner and broader access to PC gaming.

Lenovo 5G Yoga

Lenovo has unveiled the world’s first 5G laptop in the Yoga 5G, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G Compute Platform and is capable of network speeds 10x faster than 4G, thanks to the array of nine built-in antennas.

Weighing in at just over 1kg, the Yoga 5G is exceptionally portable with 24-hour battery life.

Software-enabled intelligent temperature control features built inside the laptop keeps the Yoga 5G cool throughout the day without the need for a physical fan.

Featuring a 14-inch Full HD IPS touch display, the Yoga 5G screen outputs 400 nits of brightness thanks to its Qualcomm Adreno 680 graphics and Dolby Atmos speakers driving the visuals and audio.

Paired with a digital pen/stylus and Windows 10, the Yoga 5G will herald in a new wave of mobile laptop products beyond anything we’ve seen before.

The tablet can be customised for each user and includes a Kids Mode with parental controls.

Lenovo Upgrades Your Smart Home

Lenovo unveiled two new connected home devices with the Smart Tab and the Smart Frame at CES 2020 alongside its new Connected Home Security software.

Lenovo has taken a different approach with its Smart Tab, repurposing the humble tablet into the centrepiece of your connected home, with full 2nd-Gen Google Assistant compatibly and mid-field voice recognition with a range of over 3m.

Suitable for households with multiple users, the tablet can be customised for each user and includes a Kids Mode with dedicated content and parental controls.

Taking inspiration from Netgear’s Meural, the Lenovo Smart Frame features a ‘canvasesque’ design to display your best images or artworks on a matte anti-glare screen.

Able to be mounted on the wall or an easel stand, the snap-on mounting system allows you to rotate the frame a full 90 degrees.

Built-in AI functionality helps to curate your photos by selecting high-quality images to display in digital collages. The frame also comes with a companion app with hundreds of artworks that can be displayed.

Bringing it all together is Lenovo’s Connected Home Security subscription software, which is designed to protect your connected home from digital intruders.

Made available through Lenovo’s Vantage software, the subscription service is designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access to your connected devices in real-time.
