HITACHI’S 2020 RANGE OF QLED ANDROID TVS ARE EXCELLENT MID-RANGE TVS THAT PROVIDE WELL-ROUNDED FUNCTIONALITY FOR LESS THAN $1,499 FOR A 65-INCH DISPLAY. THREE DIFFERENT SIZES OF THE HITACHI QLED TVS ARE SET TO LAND IN AUSTRALIA FROM JULY 2020, SOLD IN 50-INCH (RRP $899), 55-INCH ($1,099) AND 60-INCH SIZES AT THE GOOD GUYS.

There are a number of appealing elements to the model: it offers a chic, slim design; a bright, lifelike picture; and a vast array of Smart TV features.

Display

The Quantum Dot Technology – or quantum dot LED (QLED) – provides a significantly brighter and more detailed picture than LED models, with sharper contrasts and more vibrant colours. This technology works by placing a layer of quantum dots in front of a regular LED backlight panel, with each of these dots emitting an individual colour. This creates a more detailed and vibrant display than standalone LED.

The 4K Ultra HD display produces a stunning picture for films and sports games. While higher-end TVs are now offering 8K definition, most content at the moment is only available in 4K. These TVs also have a slim frame design, maximising screen space.

Smart

The Hitachi QLED Android TVs support a wide range of applications, including competing video streaming services Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and Twitch. It also supports Google Play Movies & TVs, Google Play Games, Google Play Store, and Google Music.

Included with each TV is a Hitachi Smart Remote, which has dedicated buttons for Netflix and YouTube, allowing users to launch these popular apps faster.

These TVs feature built-in Google Assistant, which allows users to navigate their TV with verbal commands. In addition, this line-up is equipped with Chromecast, so users can mirror content played on their smartphone or laptop on the TV.

Hitachi is providing a two-year warranty on its QLED Android TVs.
