Television Mounts.

The excitement of getting a fancy new television is a remarkable feeling, usually lasting all the way up until you have to find a place to put the thing.

Balancing some of the larger panels on your existing furniture can also be a precarious and potentially expensive gamble, it's also likely to highlight modern furniture's tacky flatpack nature of whatever you want to put it on when compared to your fancy new screen. Throwing your chipboard assembly out by the kerb and sacrificing one of your boring old walls will not only promote your panel to the centrepiece position in the room it deserves, it will also free up floor space and add a touch of luxury to the viewing experience. Critics of the wall mount will point to the semi-permanent installation but realistically if you've set up a television in the last few years (or watched someone do it for you) you'd be content to leave it where it is anyway, and agile new mounting brackets on the market mean wall positioning is becoming less of an issue anyway.

VOGEL'S

Vogels' range of full-motion TV wall mounts provide an easy way to get your television on the wall that will also allow you to see it from virtually anywhere in the room. Vogels accommodates a range of styles, from as little as 19-inch for your discerning Airbnb landlord all the way up to a home-cinema style 100-inch monster. Select ranges also offer motorised movement via remote control, for panels from 40-inch to 65-inch, starting at $1399. Other articulating mounts without the advanced electronics will save you a few hundred dollars. If you don't want to spend that much and are happy to leave your panel where it is then fixed mounts are available on the cheaper end of the scale. For the ultimate luxe-styling pair an ultrathin OLED television with one of Vogel's specially designed OLED mounts for a flush fit. The company makes one specifically for LG's Signature range with extra space for a soundbar, but on its website are handy tools to find the right fit for your current TV or your next one. The range is available in JB Hi-Fi stores around the country.

EZYMOUNTS

For a more functional (read: cheaper) option, Ezymount offers a variety of styles and settings for your new panel. Fixed models start at $129 for a mount capable of holding a panel up to 80-inch (a heavyduty model for screens up to 100-inch will run you up to $179). Full-motion mounts for a screen up to 55-inch can be had for $119 while a larger $279 mount offers a free range of motion for screens up to 80-inch, but you'll have to move it around yourself with no motorised assistance. Ezymounts are available via The Good Guys and other select retailers.
