No matter how hard she tries, Sally can’t get her hatred for Bill Spencer off her mind. She’s absolutely certain that the tyrannical media mogul wants to destroy her and crush her into the dirt, and unloads to a sympathetic Shirley and Saul about Bill literally demolishing her fashion house and breaking up her beautiful love affair with Thomas. Feeling Sally’s (Courtney Hope) pain, Saul (Alex Wyse) and Shirley (Patrika Darbo) announce that they could kill Bill (Don Diamont) for what he’s done to her, and although grateful for their support, she’ll deal with Bill herself. She leaves her grandmother and best friend worried as she declares that she’s going to sort it out. After Bill is gunned down, Sally lies low for a few days to avoid the spotlight, aware she’ll be an obvious suspect. But when Thomas (Pierson Fodé) unexpectedly returns to LA and appears on her doorstep, she’s grateful for the distraction. Overwhelmed to see her ex-lover, Sally is heartened when Thomas tells her that he knows he hurt her deeply and ruined their special relationship. He’ll always regret what he did but when Sally asks after Caroline (Linsey Godfrey), she’s stunned when he confesses that Bill lied about Caroline dying from a terminal illness to drive him and Sally apart. She’s outraged and shocked at the depth of Bill’s duplicity and, when talk turns to his shooting, Thomas is taken aback as she seethes at how much she hates him. Hearing Sally rave about everything Bill has taken from her, Thomas asks the inevitable question: “Did you shoot him?”
Relieved to hear Sally deny she committed the crime, Thomas is glad she knows the truth about why their relationship broke up and embraces her tenderly. Revealing that he and Caroline have split up for good, Thomas stuns Sally when he asks her to move to New York with him to start their own fashion house, even offering to give Shirley and Saul jobs, too. Ecstatic at the idea, Sally happily accepts, feeling her hopes of resurrecting her dream will finally be realised. Preparing for the move, Sally is suddenly dealt a blow when Detective Sanchez (Jeremy Ray Valdez) appears at her door with serious questions. Thomas is immediately defensive but both he and Sally are shocked when the cop reveals that her fingerprints were found on the weapon.
Fretting that she’s now in the frame for the crime, Sally admits that she hates Bill and fired the gun at his precious skyscraper model days before he was shot, but denies she tried to kill him. Thomas acts warily as Sally insists to Det. Sanchez that she was sitting outside the hole in the ground that used to be the Spectra building when Bill was shot. After the officer leaves, Thomas assures Sally she’ll get through this crisis, before kissing and making love to her.
Later, Thomas reconnects with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and assures his father that while he doesn’t care about Bill being shot and wouldn’t be bothered if he died, he never shot him. All he cares about now is Sally and repairing the relationship he thought they’d lost. Once Sally is absolved of any involvement in trying to kill Bill, he’s taking her to New York where he can finally give her back everything Bill stole from her and rebuild her dream.
