FEUDING FLATMATES TO SEETHING SISTERS
Vanessa and Tracy ENDURE LIFE-ALTERING SHOCKS AS JAILBIRD Frank Clayton ENTERS THEIR ORBIT.
Recent accommodation difficulties largely of her own making have landed Tracy Shankley in an uncomfortable position. Rendered homeless, Tracy moved in with Carly and Vanessa – but she hasn’t been made welcome by prickly Vanessa, who clearly doesn’t get her or her carefree approach to life. The only ray of hope for Vanessa is Tracy’s romance with David Metcalfe, which comes with the certainty that should they get married, Tracy will be leaving. With David proposing, it’s a likelihood that’s gaining momentum.
Unfortunately, Tracy’s eventual acceptance of David’s countless proposals quickly unleashes a worse kind of heartache for Vanessa than she’d ever imagined. David wants Tracy’s family at the wedding but, after learning that her estranged mother is in Ibiza and her father’s in jail, David determines to find a way for Tracy’s father Frank Clayton to attend. Visiting Frank, David’s buoyed to learn he’s up for early parole and is hoping against hope to end up living with his daughter. Then a mystery is sparked when Vanessa receives a call from her father about getting married and Tracy blasts David for contacting the father she absolutely detests.
Both women’s anger finally boils over into a catfight in the Woolpack before their ringing phones interrupt with the same message: their fathers have been hospitalised. The penny drops that Frank is also Vanessa’s father, meaning she and Tracy are half-sisters! Both girls separately visit Frank, and it’s clear they’re both estranged from him as they sit by his bedside, Tracy in total shock at his terrible condition.
Adjusting to their sibling connection is tough as Tracy clings to her open dislike of Vanessa. It’s a situation that only worsens upon Frank’s release and arrival in the village to stay with Vanessa. Determined to take her revenge on her father and sister, Tracy unleashes hell on them, hoping she won’t regret her actions.
