The Leftovers, Season Two
(The Complete Second Season)
Icouldn’t let Season Two of ‘The Leftovers’ go without mention, seeing as how I expressed high hopes for it in the review of Season One (S+I, Feb/March 2016, v.29#02). Our main families have moved to a very special town in the far corner of the country. This town has had absolutely none of the disappearances that so disrupted the world.
And its inhabitants are determined to ensure that they keep this special place to themselves, although they are happy to milk the tourists. But the Guilty Remnant, now increasingly sophisticated in its activities, are on the case.
The ten episodes are again spread over two discs, with a video bit-rate of around 15Mbps, adequate for the purposes. The opening credits have changed, but are still engrossing. The sound is of the same high quality. There are absolutely no special extras.
