Bridger Automation

-

The build process for this luxury Queensland ‘forever home’ was well under way with cabling about to start when Bridger was contacted to take over from a previous installer out of their depth. “Within a few days, we had ironed out the mess, and commenced works onsite,” says Bridger, noting that the owners had been planning this home for years prior to construction, so that their ability to make decisions quickly on the spot assisted with the shorter timeframes available. The system needed to cover three separate areas — the main house, the exteriors, and the ‘Rec Club’ pictured above, a detached building with video wall, wine cellar, bar and pool table. All user interfaces needed to control AV, lights, blinds, fans, heaters, pumps and air-conditioning, as well as remote dial-in for intercom/access control and CCTV. Flexibility and reliability were paramount, and Bridger settled on a Crestron automation solution including Clipsal C-Bus to deliver an expandable, robust and user-friendly system with automatic and manually-invoked macros that can affect the entire property — such as the automatic ‘Evening’ scene, which at sunset turns on letterbox street lighting, landscape and pathway lighting and feature wall/tree/screening to give a low-level ‘mood’ lighting. Morning and evening scenes automatically open/close the curtains and blinds to protect against the Queensland sun.
